Schiavo Case Hearing Set for Thursday
(Tampa, Florida-AP) - September 9, 2003 — In Florida, lawyers in the Terri Schiavo case are engaged in last-minute legal maneuverings as the removal of her feeding tube draws near.

Circuit Judge George Greer will conduct a hearing Thursday to set a date for removal of the feeding tube keeping the 39-year-old brain-damaged native of suburban Philadelphia alive.

Today in Tampa, an attorney for her husband -- Michael Schiavo -- filed an emergency motion with a state appeals court designed to trump some 11th-hour legal maneuverings by her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler.

The Schindlers are trying keep their daughter alive despite her vegetative state and doctors' opinions that she will never recover.

Michael Schiavo's attorney -- George Felos -- is asking the appeals court to step in and make sure the feeding tube is removed.
