[history]
August 28, 2003 -- JUST a month ago, skep tics wondered if antiwar contender Howard Dean truly was the Democratic 2004 front-runner.
Now the new question is whether there's any way for Dem rivals to stop him.
Answer: It won't be easy because Dean has built up a real head of steam - his monster rally in New York Tuesday showed it - while ex-front-runner John Kerry (D-Mass.) seems at risk of meltdown.

Thank goodness Gov Dean is against sparklers. I wonder where he stands on terrorism.

It won't be easy because Dean has built up a real head of steam It won't be easy because the other RAT candidates won't be able to, or refuse to, go to the left of Dean on the issues. The other RATs know that they'd never win the election doing that, just the nomination.

Dean wanted to wipe out a Vermont program that paid half the drug cost for seniors and the disabled with incomes less than $19,000 - and to end free adult dentures, chiropractic care and podiatry coverage. A RAT trying to take drugs away from Grandma? Hillary! wouldn't do that. Looks like the other dwarves have their issue to sink him.

Sparklers! I'm switching my support from Sharpton to Dean. Sharpton doesn't have a clear position on sparklers.

Question: I understand that Dean did not serve in the military. How did he get his deferment? Was it some type of medical problem? Is ther anything posted about this? Thanks.

Thank goodness Gov Dean is against sparklers. I wonder where he stands on terrorism. Terrorists will not have access to sparklers!

Will any of this stop the Dean steamroller? Hillary will eclipse Dean and all the others the minute she steps into the race. After Dean has all but sewn up the nomination by pandering to the extreme left, the Dems will "suddenly realize" that he is unelectable and will beg "centrist" Hillary to join the ticket or become the nominee herself.
After all his hard work, Dean will, in the end, have to yield to the Hillary power machine. That's what the Dems have wanted all along.
