Like CFR gained some points and respect from that side of the fence for Bush, showing him as open-minded, effective and a leader. Just as sharing power with the Dem gained the Republican senate points and respect?
No matter the Republican - Democrats will fight. The only possible way Arnold avoid some of the heat is if he is a RINO and does as they please.

You don't get it - Arnold did not work to pass that prop to make the Democrats happy - He did it because he felt it was right, and he was successful.
He wasn't trying to prove anything to anyone - but he did in fact prove that he is an open-minded, effective leader.
You are confusing appeasement and weakness with courage and conviction.
