[history]
Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger made his clearest statements to date on abortion and other social issues on a talk show Wednesday, after weeks of criticism for not spelling out his views for voters in the California recall.
He said he favors legalizing marijuana for medical purposes and protecting a woman's right to abortion, but is against gay marriage and granting drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants.

is against gay marriage and granting drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants.
Well, this is actually helpful, and promising. Now...
How does Arnold feel about matricula consular ID cards for Illegals?
If Proposition #187 were on the ballot this October, would Arnold vote for it again?

Schwarzenegger pledged that he would not raise taxes unless there was a state emergency Arnie, I know with a 100 mil in the bank its hard to comprehend, but the state IS IN AN EMERGENCY!

The former bodybuilder said he opposed offshore drilling and supported an assault-weapons ban and the Brady Bill requiring background checks for gun purchasers. If I were a Californian, this person would not get my vote!

Could be a coincidence, but Schwarzenegger is staking out the positions most likely to jibe well with most Californians, what for them would be the middle of the road. I say a coincidence, because it might be possible that this is what Arnie really believes, but it sounds more like he's focus grouping.
I would describe him as a Clinton Republican, the exact opposite of a Reagan Democrat and you heard it here first.
To: Sabertooth
Anything we hear at this point aren't *his* views, but the views of his advisors after several long weeks of polling and focus groups. What a joke.

I'll give Arnold one thing. He's streightforward. No wiggling whatsoever. It's hard to find a "politician" that you can nail down this easily.
To: ambrose
To put it simply, he's a Moderate-to-Conservative Liberal Republican married to a Liberal-to-Moderate Liberal Democrat.

I heard him first time talking details with Sean Hannity today.. Finally, I hear something from him, not formed speech, stuff coming straight out from the heart. He is to be on Hannity and Colmes tonight?
This is the least I can say on Arnold... My vote, goes to ...... all pending on Oct 7th! :o)

Even if it were between him and another who would completely ban guns for white people and support abortion to the 9th month?
Is there a lessor of two evils? Baby steps to reverse the 40 years of liberal debachery?
I'm flummoxed as well, but I will be voting for him.

I suppose between the LA Times and the SF Chronicle trying to crucify Arnold and giving McClintock a softball pass. I guess we know who the liberals really, really want to run Bustamante against.

Arnold has staked out his position as an armadillo planted squarely in the middle of the California Highways.

"Sometimes people want a little more," Davis said to chuckles from the traders arrayed around him at the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco. "Like a little experience.""Experience" like...how to bankrupt a state?...experience?
This low life has no shame! He has the audacity to mock AS, that besides age and residence he has nothing else to offer.
Well Gumby, this "inexperienced" fellow, was a millionare before his first movie gig, while creating/maintaining jobs.
Meanwhile you Mr. Experienced Governor managed to squander a Wilson's surplus of $12B and an additional $38B due to your crass incompetence and sheer disregard for fiscal responsibility, thus endangering the well being of California and the future's of young California's generations.
Further more Mr.Experienced you never created a single job on your own, you sucked on public tit's since you were born, because you were unable to find a position in the private sector, again due to your incompetence and arrogance.
You Mr. Governor are a disgrace and a liability for wich we shall part very soon.

the state IS IN AN EMERGENCY!If a Candidate says he will not raise taxes unless the state is in an emergecy AND the state is in an emergency, THEN he will raise taxes.
Read his lips, he just confessed to it.
