David Frum to speak at Free Dominions 2004 Awards Banquet
Today we finalized arrangements to have David Frum appear as our featured speaker at the 2004 Free Dominion Principled Conservatism Awards Banquet to be held again - at Tudor Hall in Ottawa, Ontario. We have chosen February 18, 2004 for this years banquet because it is the evening before the Canadian Alliance Convention in Ottawa so it will serve as the social and political kick-off of the weekend for conventioners.
David Frum - Presidential Speechwriter, Journalist, Author
Dubbed "one of the leading political commentators of his generation" by the Wall Street Journal, David Frum is considered one of North America's top 100 public intellectuals.
Born and raised in Canada, David went on to make his mark as an American journalist, author and economic speechwriter for the Bush Administration.
For over a decade, David's articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Weekly Standard, The New York Times and Canada's National Post. David Frum also served as a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute for Public Policy Research. A compelling speaker, he delivers extraordinary commentary on the national and international social and political issues of the day.
Earlier this year he released his latest book quickly becoming a best-seller: The Right Man: The Surprise Presidency of George W. Bush , sharing his inside accounts of how the President thinks, and on his transformation to becoming one of the most decisive, successful, and popular leaders of our time.
Mr. Frum will be addressing Canadian/American relations in the wake of 9/11, and after the failure of the Liberal government to live up to Canada's commitment as America's ally.
We will also have a second guest speaker at the banquet to be named when we have finalized arrangements.
Tickets for the 2004 Free Dominion Banquet are $75.00 and are now on sale and we have set a target of 500 ticket sales by the end of November 2003. Tickets purchased after November will be $85.00, increasing to $100.00 for tickets bought at the door. Seating is limited and Mr. Frum is a very popular speaker, so be sure to reserve early!
The Third Annual Free Dominion Principled Conservatism Awards Banquet promises to be our biggest and best yet. Dont miss this one, it will be the place to be on February 18, 2004!

We posted the above article on Free Dominion yesterday and we wanted to share the good news with our American FReeper friends.
Good things are happening in Canada. Please keep us in your prayers as we work hard to organize this important event and continue to battle the forces of liberalism here in Canada!

Not sure that it's a great thing to have a Canadian expatriate is heading a conservative function in Canada...

What a great man.

"Good things are happening in Canada. Please keep us in your prayers as we work hard to organize this important event and continue to battle the forces of liberalism here in Canada!" Good News Indeed!
I've always wondered though, do you conservative Canadians have some fortified area (like a bunker or comopund) somewhere where you can all congregate and be safe form the liberal nutballs that seem to run rampant up there?

Unfortunately the Liberal barbarians are at our gates. Still, we fight on. Our 2004 Banquet will be held in the belly of the beast - Ottawa.

When I saw this thread, I asked my self, "Is this good news or bad news?" Then I realized, he's talking up there -- that makes him Canada's problem, eh?

Cool! First I've heard of FreeDominion. Would it be possible to escape the California recall, and "Bush-is-a-Socialist" threads there?

How did we turn our backs on our country? If we leave our respective states and become expatriates in say, Mexico, would be praised like Frum? But I guess we'd need to write a catchphrase for President Fox before we went down there huh?
