Ernie Fletcher, who says he doesn't support expanded gambling but wouldn't oppose passage of it as governor
This sounds like the "pro-choice" people: They do not support abortion but do not oppose it if people want the option.
To: Theodore R.
Ouch, that's a pretty nasty slam at a conservative Republican.

Well, he said he was against gambling but would do nothing to block the expansion of gambling. That sounds like the Cuomo-Ferraro position on abortion to me.

Republican nominee Ernie Fletcher, who says he doesn't support expanded gambling but wouldn't oppose passage of it as governor He's not against it per se, he's just not gonna lift a finger to help it.
Abortion is a very different issue, and Fletcher's position isn't even a parallel. There's a difference between believing gambling (or getting drunk) is immoral (has Fletcher said this even?) but should not be illegal and believing abortion is murder and should be legal.

I must have offered a confusing parallel. I said that Fletcher's position on extending gambling sounded a lot like Mario Cuomo and Geraldine Ferraro's position on abortion. I did in any way suggest that Fletcher is not prolife.

I said that Fletcher's position on extending gambling sounded a lot like Mario Cuomo and Geraldine Ferraro's position on abortion. And I said it wasn't a parallel and the two issues are on different planes besides.
I think we need a writing and comprehension course ;-)
