Bump. My RINO governor told conservatives he was against illegal immigrantion too. Then he passed out all kinds of ILLEGAL driver licenses to his ILLEGAL alien buddies so their "basic right" to drive was ensured. That scandal brought him down and wiped out the ILGOP in 2002.

I would never stand in the way of any child going to school, whether he or she is here legally or illegally, it does not matter.Arnold Schwarzenegger, October 2002
Doesn't sound like someone opposed to illegal immigration. Sounds like a wishy-washy liberal RINO.

Vanity and gratuitous (already discussed ad nauseam elsewhere) Schwarzenegger-bashing alert.

If they're gonna let them stay here then they might as well educate 'em.
IF THEY'RE GONNA LET THEM STAY!

2002. This was just last year, much more recent than his alleged vote on 187.
At worst Arnold is lying. At best he is wishy washy and doesn't have any strong beliefs. This is not comforting.
Good find.

It seems that he likely didn't like parts of it (kicking children of illegals out of schools) but voted for it because he supported other parts, presumabley stopping welfare and health care for illegals. So why didn't you post the entire article, including the fact that Arnold actually did vote for 187 and let people make up their own minds?

So why didn't you post the entire article, including the fact that Arnold actually did vote for 187 and let people make up their own minds? Anyone who wants to can click on the link and read the entire article for themselves. Makes for an interesting read:
So how does the campaign reconcile the nine-year old pro-187 vote with the anti-187 statement of last year? After more than a week, it hasn't yet. Just one of those pesky details that is yet to emerge. And how did the media miss the contradiction? There were, after all, many other reporters on hand for Schwarzenegger's Commonwealth Club speech. Can you say starstruck? Lack of memory is a factor, too.

Nice RAT-like misleading title. You call it "Ahnold's position on Proposition 187", and post one line that would lead most people to believe he didn't support it. In fact, as you apparently know, he voted in favor of it. You wouldn't have had to copy the whole article to make that clear -- just add another clause. Nice tactic -- intentionally mislead people about a guy so they won't support him.
It'd be one thing to accuse him of a flip-flop, or waffling, or holding contradictory positions. But no -- instead, you chose flat-out misrepresenation in a one line post intended to mislead. If you think that type of tactic will help persuade people to support McClintock, all you've really done is discredit your own side.

Lets see how many speak out on this thread
What I find very interesting is, most that will voice concern here, *never ever* show up on the many threads regarding the epic, nationwide illegal alien invasion.
Seems like only a handful of concerned people ever show up on those threads.
Yet all of a sudden.........

Arnold voted in favor of Prop 187 and has not apologized for doing so. However, he is not foolish enough to disregard the court's subsequent ruling in regard to the education issue.
How's this for a Bustamante sound bite, "Arnold vows to violate constitutional law by denying education to children".
To: ambrose
Not a misrepresentation; The truth. You can't handle the truth. To the contrary, The fact that you saw the need to mislead folks suggests that it's you who doesn't want people to know the truth -- that Arnold voted in favor of Prop 187.
You know, purely as an interested bystander who isn't a California voter, you McClintock supporters are not making your best case. Your best case is to admit that McClintock probably couldn't win a regular election in California, but to hammer the fact that this isn't a regular election. That point gets mentioned occasionally, but your candidate's biggest weakness among Republicans is the perception that he can't win. So that should be the message you push most strongly. "Your best (and maybe only) chance to elect a true conservative". That should be your theme. A positive theme, rather than a negative "trash Arnold" theme.
Instead, the case you're pushing the hardest is that Arnold is some horrible RINO who will ruin California. And in support of that, you make weak arguments like the one you made about Arnold and 187.
Most Freepers seem to like McClintock's views better, but are willing to accept Arnold -- with knowledge of his flaws -- because they don't believe McClintock can win. Your current tactics alienate those people, and do your guy a disservice.
Of course, I don't think that would work either, because enough Republicans are going to stick with Arnold that McClintock won't be able to get enough votes anyway. Even if you guys are right. But the method you're choosing to try to change that result is a crummy one.

The RINOs don't care that the state is being invaded by illegals, and that we're being forced to pay for it. Most simply refuse to listen to the mountain of evidence showing that Ahnold is a pro-illegal RINO, which explains the total silence on this thread.

Try reading the entire article, which is one easy click away.
It really doesn't matter what he allegedly voted for in 1994 since he repudiated that purported vote in October of 2002 with the statement quoted above.
