Right. Not gay. He's the spitting image of John Wayne in "Sands of Iwo Jima".

Sponge Bob is not Gay he is just very Happy!

How about Squidward?! Why didn't they point out several comments in the show about him that hint that...well, you know... Offhand I can think of two, one where Mr Krabs pointedly comments that Squidward is "artistic" (said with a verbal "nudge, nudge" that would fly over little kids' heads) and in another where music is playing and Mr Krabs wonders out loud why Spongebob is listening to show tunes, Squidward's type music.

Sponge Bob represents a young, happy boy -- and the homosexuals are attracted to this so much that they consistantly declare that he's gay?
It doesn't speak well of the homosexual community that they have sexual thoughts about a young boyish character.

"I always think of them as being somewhat asexual." There's a joke here. The creator of Spongebob Squarepants is a former marine biologist, which is why the show has lots of biology humor (one time Spongebob accidentally travelled to a much deeper part of the sea floor, and encountered a strange, scary town of tube worms and luminescent blowfish). It's the creator's joke that everything in Bikini Bottom is an actual sea creature (aside from the squirrel), except that Spongebob is a synthetic kitchen sponge instead of a sea sponge.
Sponges are, of course, asexual.

That one episode where Spongebob and Patrick raised a baby clam was kind of gay. Still funny though......

Who is SpongeBob? A yellow sea sponge whose home is a giant pineapple Lives in Bikini Bottom on the bed of the Pacific Ocean Best friend is pink starfish called Patrick Likes winding up his neighbour, Squidward Tentacles Goes to Mrs Puff's Boating School He holds hands with his pink best friend, lives in an underwater pineapple and gets boating lessons from a teacher called Mrs Puff. Why does this reporter at the BBC repeat the same thing in the same paragraph??
As for Spongebob .. Good Grief it's a friggin cartoon and not everything has to be linked to gays
As for the teletubby .. You have to be a brain dead nit wit to watch that show ..

To heck with SpongeBob being gay - which he isn't!
What I want to know is his politics. Is he a Rat, Commie, Pubbie, RINO, or a patriotic, conservative REAL AM-EHR-ICK-AN? Or Bikini Bottomer in this case.

His sexuality has become the biggest talking point since US campaigners claimed handbag-carrying Teletubby Tinky Winky, an import from the UK, was a bad role-model. Wrong. Tinky Winky was a burgeoning gay icon in the UK before Falwell ever caught wind of the show. Falwell picked up on that fact, rather than creating it out of thin air.

Whoever wrote this article is a crappy writer. The paragraph describing Spongebob is redundant.
BTW I am 25 and I love Spongebob and my 2 1/2yr old son loves spongebob. My 10mth old likes it too, as does my hubby. Now where do I find one of those spongebob thongs (for women, not men)?

I love Spongebob and his dumb starfish neighbor Patrick.
This story just proves that gays are a bunch of pervs, if anyone needs proof.
To: UnklGene
This just pisses me off.
Why can't the "gay community" just stick to babs, bravo, & butt-jousting?
