I was on CNN, and I got a call at my home saying, 'You got to say this is connected. This is state-sponsored terrorism. This has to be connected to Saddam Hussein.' I said, 'But--I'm willing to say it, but what's your evidence?' And I never got any evidence."

Funny, everything I recall was x43 saying it wasn't Iraq, and denying Iraqi connections to the anthrax. Everything for ending the 12 year war with Saddam related to other terrorism, and weapons, and ending the quagmire - which 9/11 provided the fire in the belly to do.

Clark had insisted that the White House called him, as the towers were falling, to pressure Clark to go national that Iraq was behind the attack. He has backed off that claim and admits he was "confused".


So, Timmy's question was what confused him. It's Timmy's fault. Let's hope that if he gets a Pr or VP nod, in the debates they won't ask any confusing questions like "Who did that?" and confuse the General.

Great post. THanks for Clark's exact words on Meet the Press. There's no way that squares with his "clarification" in his letter to the NYT editor.
