Until he gives us the concurrent retired pay and disability benefits without taking the equivalent of my disability pay out of my retired pay, there is not much I want to hear from him on vet benefits. We are the only group of former federal employees who get our retired pay docked the amount of whatever we get from VA disability. I.E. If you get $1,000 retired pay and $300 in disability payments start, then you get docked $300 from retired, so you only get $700 retired and the $300 disability, not $1,000 and $300. The republicans refuse to approve overturning this. It was promised, but now ignored. Funny how that works.

I hear you. My husband is USA (retired) after 24 years and three tours in VietNam. Everytime he gets a "raise" it just costs more in taxes.

Bush says Veterans affairs spending has increased 30% since he took office. His request for the next budget is the LARGEST EVER discretionary request by a President. BIG applause.

The murderers celebrate the murder of women and children. Hmm. Sounds like a message to Arafat AS WELL AS the Al Qaeda's.

We simply need to treat our soldiers and veterans much better. I will be horribly disappointed if this administation does not support those who have given us so much.

Without our soldiers, we would not enjoy the lives we have today and we owe them more than we can ever repay.

Every nation must denounce terrorism, and act against the few who would destroy the hope of the many.

Because the USA values freedom, the terrorists have targeted our nation.

The terrorists thought if they hit us HARD, we'd back down.

Five years ago, one terrorist said if they hit America hard, we'd run. The terrorists are seeing something different today.

WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR TERRORISTS TO STRIKE US AGAIN. WE WILL STRIKE THEM IN THEIR CAMPS, THEIR CAVES WHEREVER THEY ARE BEFORE THEY STRIKE US AGAIN.

I'm glad President Bush has submitted such a large budget request. Now Congress needs to approve it. If we do not keep our promises to our soldiers, who have sacrificed everything to defend us, I will be horribly disillusioned and disappointed.

This is the best speech I have heard in a while! He is one disgusted President! Believe all the attacks by the RATs and the quagmire media folks are now being countered in one speech.

We are going after the terrorist before they can attack here -- going after WMD's. (My comment: Look out Lebanon and Syria!)

Bush: The Taliban thought they were pretty tough, beating women in the streets and executing them in the stadium. They aren't so tough anymore.

I don't know. I hate to hear Powell and Rice tell Isreal to cool it. I want Sharon to MOAB (or its equivelant) the Palestinianst butts and shrug at the UN and the State Department.

There is no reason for those *ssholes to bomb women, children and old people. These Israelis have b*lls, they should be allowed to use their force.
