NEVER FORGET
...KTLA-TV Channel 5 Los Angeles 'Morning News' is reporting this morning that ARNOLD is now leading California Lt. Governor BUSTAMONTE by 6 percentage points and that RUDY GUILLIANI has just endorsed ARNOLD. (This Poll was commissioned by now former Recall Candidate BILL SIMON)
...RUDY GUILLIANI was BILL SIMON's top endorser for California Governor during his 2002 Race against Gov. GRAY DAVIS.
...KTLA-TV Channel 5 'Morning News' is seen throughout North America via Cable and Dish TV. It is own by the Chicago Tribune as is the Los Angeles Times. The Chicago Tribue has been watching the news operation of the Los Angeles Times very closely of late.
NEVER FORGET
Jeb is, indeed, at least in the process of passing abortion RESTRICTIONS, which is what I claimed. (Dubya has the PBA ban in the pipeline as well as Mexico City etc.) (I don't know their legistlative records off the top of my head; look it up yourself.) Pawlenty has passed restrictions in Minnesota. Look it up, moron, lots have states have passed restrictions.
I guess ABC is not a real TV-Radio Organization either!! Polls can be analyzed and broken down, you are entitled to your opinion. This poll only used certain voters.
Schwarzenegger cannot affect abortion policy.
Schwarzenegger cannot affect abortion policy.
Schwarzenegger cannot affect abortion policy.
-DoughtyOne
Please explain the 5 or 6 pro-abortion bills Gray Davis has signed. Also the anti-abortion bills such as women's right to know passed in other states.
Or else stop talking out your rear.
Bustamante as governor would not be good news for Bush. As a Democrat in the governors chair, he would inherit Daviss fiscal problems but not his personal baggage. Accordingly, the election of a Republican Oct. 7 suddenly becomes a Bush priority. Nobody gives 2002 nominee Bill Simon a prayer, and state Sen. Tom McClintock is a very dark horse. That is why, on the day after Schwarzenegger nudged aside Riordan to become a candidate, the President declared of the five-time Mr. Universe: I think hed make a good governor.
I think McClintock is the better candidate. If he can't win I will vote for someone else rather than see Davis or worse yet Bustamante hold the office.
Tell me brain trust, do you think Bush is stupid enough not to know what Arnold stands for?
In light of that, how can you say he's done everything he can on the subject your harping on?
He could withhold support from Schwarzenegger. Duh.
The original post (#26) read:
----------------------
..California's Answer lays in having a Repbublican Spending Veto sitting its Governor's Chair... ...no matter what.
"Is money more important than life?"
----------------------
The original poster was not referring to abortion restrictions. This poster was referring to banning abortion which is why DoughtyOne identified the statement as dishonest. No state (governor) can ignore Roe V Wade though they may try to make abortion more difficult with restrictions, some of which may not stand the test of the US Supreme Court.
Yes, your suggestion that SB 1301 was active and required a signature by the next governor was false.
Your post #36
No, the California legislature acted to preserve abortion on demand under all circumstances. Arnold would happily sign such legislation, wouldn't he?
Both comments are false. California law restricts abortion if the fetus is capable of living outside of the womb (late term - see PPAC) The Bill was signed by Gray a year ago as a political move.
Arnold would happily sign such legislation, wouldn't he?
Based on your claim that this legislation would "preserve abortion on demand under all circumstances" you are wrong again. Today on Hannity, Arnold said he is pro choice but opposes partial birth abortions.
False, again. No quote, again. Naturally, again.
Today on Hannity, Arnold said he is pro choice but opposes partial birth abortions.
NewsMax was predicting he would eventually come out against partial-birth abortion. How convenient for him to take that position today.
If you are trying to make a point other than acknowleging that your statement was false, then you will have to be more clear if that's possible. I cannot decipher your cryptic message. Nor will I be interested in responding to more of the same. It's a waste of my time.
NewsMax was predicting he would eventually come out against partial-birth abortion. How convenient for him to take that position today.
This would mean something if you can point to a respected source that quotes Schwarzenneger as saying he approves of partial birth abortions. Psychic ponderings from NewsMax are unimpressive and the use of the above is disingenuous as well as juvenile.
This is not a stance Schwarzenegger assumed today for the sake of expediency.
See this from back in July. July 25:
Total Recall - His advisers say Arnold Schwarzenegger WILL run for governor~ John Fund
EXCERPT:
The actor has told his friend Rep. Dana Rohrabacher that he opposes partial-birth abortion and backs the Boy Scouts' right to set private standards for membership. While he supports the state's ban on assault weapons, he has opposed strict gun controls. His advisers hint he wants to restore a limit on state spending that was removed in 1990.
~snip~
Seems to be a habit of roscoe's.
When I heard Schwarzenegger make the statement, it sounded genuine like the rest of his answers in that interview. I was suprised by his candid replies. I don't agree with him on all issues (I can't recall any candidate I've agreed with on all issues) but he's looking better and better to me. Probably his stance on gun control bothers me the most. Gun control laws in California are repressive. I think his position on oil drilling is naive and will evolve when reality sets in. One thing I like about him a lot is his willingness to hear all sides.
