Now *that's* funny! :-)

I won't just consider Tom, I'd spend all my time posting in favor of him on this forum if his supporters would have enough common sense to quite trying to destroy what might be our only fall back position.
If you never want me to see defend Arnold again, then tell the folks who are trashing across this forum to post in favor of their own man and quit trashin Arnold.
If he's good enough for Bush, then he's at least good enough to serve in stead of Bustamante.

McClintock's views are right in line with what I'd like to see in office. I do not think McClintock is well represented by those who seek to do so on this forum.

I'm still waiting. So am I.
To: hotpotato
I didn't think you could. Thanks anyway. Take care.
To: 68 grunt
Reagan was a conservative.
To: DoughtyOne
btw, did you see my post #77 where I made a clarification?
To: hotpotato
You have to understand that Cruz Bustamonte scares the
cr@p out of me. Gray Davis is merely incopetent, Cruz is evil.
He is a Mexican Nationalist, i.e. a traitor. He would have the same policies as Gray and destroy the state when he is done.
Worrying about abortion is insisting on rearrainging the deck chairs when the ship of state is about to hit an iceberg. Now is not the time.

Reagan was a conservative.True, but a conservative who signed the first California abortion bill when governor.

Well, we'll soon know if this poll is correct..If Judy Woodruff ignores it on CNN's inside politics, then it's gospel..

Yep - you tell him Nat! Also, California was a much more conservative state then.

No I didn't, and it certainly puts things in a different light.
I appologize for missing that clarification, and the resulting discourse with you.
If I had seen that clarification, I would have respectfully disagreed with you.
Sometimes the only way to fight fire is with fire. Do I like having to? Not really.
I must say this tactic was resorted to only after trying other things first.

I am participating on several threads. The only way I can keep up, is by going to the "My Comments" section and seeing who has addressed me recently. Your comment was to yourself, so I missed it.
To: NathanR
Yes, but Reagan ran on a tax cut and had clearly defined conservative positions by the time he ran. Arnold won't promise not to raise taxes, won't promise to repeal Family Leave, and hasn't gone out on a limb to support any conservative position on any social or economic issue that I can find.
To: DoughtyOne
If Arnold would promise not to raise taxes, or take some other position that distinguishes himself from Davis, then I still wouldn't vote for him. But I might not be so vocal in opposition.
To: ken5050
You've got a good sniff-test there fella.
It's remarkable what you can pick up by watching what isn't done by the media. This is a great case in point.
To: NathanR
Did you intend to reply to one of my messages? I think you may be confused because I'm not worried about the abortion issue (which is why I reponded to the poster who presented the argument about whether or not Arnold would sign a pro-choice bill - I said their argument was moot as it had already been signed by Gray Davis so it isn't an issue for a governor of California). I'm also suspicious of and would never support Bustamante. He will kill business in this state. I think he is more a socialist than a democrat. I think the state legislature of California needs to be overhauled. An argument in Arnold's favor is that he would be more likely than other republicans on the ballot to successfully encourage republicans to challenge democratic spots. And with his support, they might only not run but also win. The extreme left has got to go. I'm a CA voter and will be voting.
To: The Old Hoosier
You ain't a californian so who cares who you'd vote for? It is interesting to note that you'd prefer us with bustamante than AS.

I saw you as winning and the fire unnecessary because of that and I respected your position. I especially liked your essay.
To: The Old Hoosier
Unlike Bush I, he is not making promises he can not keep. When one of his people (Not Buffett, who he should have kicked off his team.) suggested a swap that would raise some taxes while lowering others, all the media would say was that Arnold wanted to raise taxes.
With Arnold I think we have a chance of just missing the iceberg. Cruz would turn the ship into the iceberg. I like Tom and might yet vote for him, but I am afraid that if he becomes governor, his crew might just ignore him and we would hit the iceberg anyway.
