Killer of [Pedophile] Ex-Priest Was Hater of Gays (Three Bag Hurl Alert..)
New Jersey Star Ledger ^ | August 26, 2003 | Adam Gorlick

Posted on 08/26/2003 8:00:08 AM PDT by prarie earth

The inmate accused of strangling John Geoghan in his prison cell hated homosexuals and began plotting the attack on the child molesting former priest weeks ago, a prosecutor said yesterday.

'He looked on Father Geoghan as a prize,' District Attorney John Conte said. No question he had been planning it for well over a month.

Joe L. Druce, who is serving a life term for killing a gay man 15 years ago, cut apart a book to make a perfect tool for jamming the door of Geoghan's cell and spent time stretching the socks used in the strangling, Conte said.

'Druce had a longstanding phobia, it appears, toward homosexuals of any kind..He is filled with long standing hate,' Conte said as he provided new details into the death of the central figure in the Roman Catholic Church sex scandal.

Conte did not address why two inmates with such criminal histories were living in the same cell block at the maximum security Souza Correctional Facility in Shirley.

"Thousands of children are molested every year by public school teachers..."

Millions of innocent Protestant children are kidnapped and brutally beaten as a form of exorcism by a secret cabal of Roman Catholic Priests while a thousand Nuns sing "It's A Small World" in the background!

I can make up equally stupid and bogus statistics also.

For those of you spoiling for an insult, I left off the obvious "sarcasm" tag.

I hope and pray that Joseph Druce gets his filthy brains bashed in by the mafia or something.

I hope all the stupid kneejerk FReepers who allied with the liberal media against the hated Catholic Church realize that they've been played for suckers.

I don't hold out much hope that they will realize that fact.

If as you say, sodomites have gained free reign within the Church, with a political bureaucracy that tolerates and even protects them, we are talking factions of Satan my friend.

There have always been tares among the wheat. Judas was one of the Twelve, as you may recall.

Evil men will always infiltrate the Church to try to destroy it from within. It happens in every generation.

I haven't flirted with millenialism for ages and ages, but one must wonder. How can the Church be a haven for predators of the Innocent?

The Church in America is not the Universal Church, it's only a part of it. At the end of the tenth century the Church in Italy was venal and corrupt beyond measure - and monks from Bavaria and France returned Christian discipline and renewed it. It's a continuous process.

And what does it really mean?

It means we have to pray more, have greater faith and give an even more uncompromising witness.

You said, "Would that be because you have never seen the mass media report on the teachers' unions opposition to more stringent licensing? You prove my point for me."
- Actually, you proved my point, that is,that there is no actual statistics that show beyond a shadow of a doubt that the problem of molestation is only in one venue. I don't actually take too much stock in a news story, I tend to, if it interests me, to do some research of my own.

2. You said, "It's what God deems right and wrong".
Since this point is an age old debate, I'll just agree to disagree, and move on. I accept all religions and fully support them in thier efforts, and I'm not about to go into this one.

3. You said, "You want to scant the good they do every day and pretend that they don't exist. In many ways that's an even worse thing to do than covering up evil deeds." PREPOSTEROUS and totally unfounded. I ABSOLUTELY KNOW that the majority of priests are god fearing and humble men that contribute greatly to thier faith and thier flocks. How can I pretend good priests don't exist, I never implied that all Catholics were bad, never. I embrace all religions equally, and I do understand that with good there will always be bad. My assertion was that, if the rising problem isn't fixed, and quickly, the message will not carry much weight, which I really do not want to see happen, but could quite be a reality.

You have to understand that if a priest or small group of them are committing such horrible acts, it will and has shaken the faith of those people that they were supposed to lead. What happens then? More god fearing people lost because of these acts. That's why it's so imperative to fix the problem.

I can make up equally stupid and bogus statistics also.

I'm sure you're in the habit of making up lots of stupid and bogus things.

I'm not, however. One municipality alone, New York City, official admits that school employees molest hundreds of children each year and that a third of those crimes are committed by known sex offenders employed at public schools. Try this link for an interesting article.

Unless we assume that NYC is the only school district in America with this problem - and since one teacher in the Charlotte, NC area alone was charged with 261 sexual assaults in a one year period, I doubt it - my figure is quite accurate and credible.

Your awareness of the problem is commensurate with your qualifications to judge my mental state.

But since you're engaging in amateur online psychology how does this sound?

I realize that your comments are motivated by the guilt you feel at being one of those FReepers who marched in lockstep with the liberal media against the Catholic Church. You lash out at me because I reveal a painful truth about your own character.

All I got out of the article and, indeed, the entire incident is that states without the death penalty cannot protect their inmates and guards because lifers have nothing to lose!

I misinterpreted your statements and I apologize.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above statement.

Completely understandable, it's hard to gauge what someone is saying when it's just written word.

From the excerpt, it sounds word for word (so far, and I am NOT clicking the link either) like the same AP story that's posted in a number of places already (and twice here so far). You can get the full text elsewhere, if certain posters aren't going to concern themselves with the archives. ;D

It seems to me that you are trying to censor here.

Nope, Eggs is trying to preserve. Every one of these threads goes into the FR archives, and when the story is taken down from where it's currently hosted (and that will happen relatively soon), all this thread will have, forever, is the excerpt.

The archives are a wonderful resource, mainly because the entire article and discussion are on one page, complete and in context. Spend a little time there and you'll realize how frustrating it is to pull up excerpted threads from as recently as six months ago and find that the links don't work anymore.

So if it's not on the excerpt-only list (and you'll get a window message now if you try to post from one of those), please think of posterity and post the full text...

Not excusing the young man's actions, but I understand he had been molested repeatedly by a homosexual when a child. (Not sure of his age at the time.) Obviously, he hadn't gotten over it.

I have reported you for abuse, because your comment was PRO-MURDER. No one has the right to commit murder--not the man in the street, not an abortionist, and not a criminal in jail with other criminals.

Abuse? I think that's oppinion myself. It's your OPPINION that "No one has the right to commit murder--not the man in the street, not an abortionist, and not a criminal in jail with other criminals."

While I don't agree with the events that happened either,it's obvious that the killer didn't have the same oppinion as you do.

So, sit back, have a coke and a smile, please. It's not like there was profanity, personal attacks on anyone, or racism or violence used in the post. Those are the rules, and they weren't broken.

I understand, and I have already posted to Eggs about my misunderstanding, it is frustrating when the link doesn't go directly to the source. And I do know how frustrating archives are. It was quite possibly an innocent mistake made by Prairie.

Yet the media pumps up the so-called "Voice of the Faithful" as the solution to these problems. What is the stance of VOTF? That the Church be more open and forgiving toward sodomites and that bishops be elected rather than appointed.

In other words: the solution to sodomites sneaking into the priesthood and bishops acting like the Clintons is to openly welcome sodomites into the clergy and to make sure that all bishops be campaigning politicians.

Bears repeating -- "What oft was thought, but ne'er so well expressed"!
