Terri Schiavo Moved to Hospital Again, in Critical Condition

Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Terri Schiavo has been moved to a hospital again, and this time she is in critical condition.

In a statement provided to LifeNews.com, Pamela Hennessy, a representative of Terri's family, said Terri was moved from the hospice where she is living to Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida. She was admitted through the emergency room.

This is the second time in 10 days that Terri has been to the hospital, the first time after Terri was coughing up blood.

The hospitalization is at the center of a legal battle, with Terri's parents and siblings saying her husband Michael violated a 1996 court order requiring him and his attorneys to provide Terri's family with updates on her medical condition. Michael prevented the hospital from allowing visitors and releasing information on Terri's status.

Though Terri was admitted Sunday night, Hennessy told LifeNews.com that Terri's family didn't receive notice until Monday morning when Michael's attorney faxed Pat Anderson, the attorney for the family.

"Though the Schindlers did not receive the court-ordered discharge summary from Terri's previous hospitalization, they are concerned that she suffers from a continuance of the ailment that she was treated for there and that she may have been released too soon," Hennessy explained.

Hospital officials are not currently providing the family with updates on Terri's condition.

Bob and Mary Schindler have been engaged in an ongoing legal battle to block the efforts of Terri's husband, Michael Schiavo, to remove a feeding tube which provides Terri nutrition and hydration. If removed, Terri will die a painful death by starvation over the course of 15 days.

The Florida Supreme Court ruled on Friday that it would not hear Terri's case. The decision allows a local judge to set a date for Terri's death.

I haven't followed this case very closely, and I was telling my hubby about it. His question was whether or not the husband has attempted to divorce the wife. Maybe someone here could answer that.

The following additional information is from

Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - A spokeswoman for the family of Terri Schindler Schiavo said Monday afternoon that the disabled woman at the center of a Florida euthanasia controversy has been hospitalized for the second time in less than two weeks.

"She's been hospitalized, and the conditions are mysterious," Pamela Hennessy, the volunteer media coordinator for the Schindler family, told CNSNews.com Monday afternoon. "The parents don't know what's going on, but she appears to be in critical condition. It appears to be pretty serious."

As of mid-afternoon, the family had been unable to determine the reason Terri was returned to the Morton Plant Hospital from the hospice where she was being kept. Though Terri was admitted through the hospital's emergency room sometime Sunday night, her family did not learn of her hospitalization until midday Monday.

the conditions are mysterious

I can't begin to imagine the agony and frustration her parents must endure, as they watch their daughter deteriorate under the direct instructions of her husband.

I'm geographically close to the Schiavvo case. We just heard on wfla radio 970 that Gov. Bush received over 25K emails from Floridians, etc. who wanted him to intervene. Jeb did a two page letter to Judge Greer asking that a "guardian ad litem" be appointed for Terri.

I called Gov. Bush's office at 1-850-488-7146 to thank him for writing to Judge Greer and to let him know that the "guardian ad litem" proposal was good for Terri.

The guardian ad litem would only be guardian of the person and has no interest in the litigation between the parents and the blankety-blank. I believe the guardian ad litem will assess and have the authority to allow the parents to be able to see their daughter again.

Please call the Governor as this is not over and express that you are in agreement with his suggestion re: the guardian ad litem for Terri. 25K emails followed by more emails and phone calls. We don't know how long Terri has but this has been an absolute nightmare for her parents. Call the Governor for Terri and her parents. Thanks, floriduh voter

See my new post. Gov. Jeb has written to J. Greer. Greer's been in guardianship and probate for a long time. Maybe too long. Please bump this thread so we can update folks. I am not doing a thread because this will be more than a radio report soon. A written report will provide more details and I'd ask someone else to look for that. I've done my part today. Fregards, FV

NN, Jeb's intervening by pressuring the Judge after receiving over 25K emails. I think we need to keep emailing and calling Gov. Bush because this isn't over and Judge Greer may not take Jeb's suggestion.

We have a St. Pete Courthouse and a Clearwater Courthouse. I don't know where Judge Greer is located but if anyone wants to protest Judge Greer, they can go to the Pinellas County Clerk of Courts web page and look up what Section Judge Greer is and where he is for a peaceful demonstration in the public square of that property in Clearwater or St. Pete.

I am not trying to organize a demonstration - just providing some useful information in case anyone wants to show up for Terri and her parents. Her parents are paying a high price for loving their daughter. fregards, FV

Schiavo is guilty of medical neglect and I don't know why he was never prosecuted for that. Governor Bush is recommending to J. Greer that they appoint a guardian ad litem. The Governor's phone number is provided above to thank him and to applaud his recommendation made to J. Greer.

Divorce his wife? No. He's waiting to collect medical malpractice or life insurance money that he can only obtain if she's deceased. Please see above that Gov. Bush has written to J. Greer and it was on local radio a half an hour ago.

A guardian ad litem will take Terri out of the hands of her wretched husband but only if J. Greer takes Governor Bush's recommendations.

So you're saying he's never attempted to divorce his wife? (I have to get this perfectly straight 'cuz hubby wanted to know that specifically and repeated the question to me at least three times when I was telling him the little I knew about the case.) Is there any law that prevents him from divorcing his wife because she is incapacitated? (he asked that, too.)

Pennsylvania checking in here ... two emails have been sent to Governor Bush ... the first last week asking for intervention; the second today, thanking him for action ... may God yet intervene on behalf of this beloved daughter ...

Terri update. Schiavo heading back to Court to prevent his wife from being treated for lung infection. That is medical neglect. This is breaking by Jack Harris at noon in local radio market. The lung infection would suffocate her and he doesn't want her to have antibiotics.

Jack Harris is pondering why the Judges often agree with the husband. "What if there's a possibility that there are some cognitive powers left in Terri Schiavo but can't express herself? ... not a total vegetative state. What if she feels the pain of suffocation or starving to death.?" Jack Harris wfla radio

He's guilty of medical neglect, I think he's also guilty of false imprisonment by not letting her parents see her and he's guilty of plenty, but the Courts seem to want her deceased too. If this doesn't prove that our judicial system is whacked, nothing does.

Update from local news above. Governor Bush is not in a vegetative state and he's got the right idea about getting Terri hooked up with a guardian ad litem. I say people who feel strongly should continue to call the Governor, should find the right courthouse and take signs. We might not be able to prolong Terri's life but don't her parents deserve to see the daughter that they love so much?

The lawyer insisted that there was no way Michael Schiavo could financially benefit by Terri's death. Why don't I believe him?

John Gibson didn't either, he kept saying the husband does not look good in this. You could tell the whole story disturbed him.
