I view it as inevitable that you 2 should meet and play and become fast friends here. BTW.

Actually, the population tried revoting. People registered their cars in VA and got a VA mailbox just so that they wouldn't have to deal with DC's Department of Motor Vehicles.
Unfortunately, DC gov't found out and started cross-checking the VA database, saying this was UNFAIR because they were losing VALUABLE TAXDOLLARS.
DC gov't very opening talks about its residents as billing units. We're just a source of revenue to them.

LOL!
Thank you for the graphic you don't *recall*

"come to Jesus"
LOL.
Well, I call 911 if I see a "suspcious person" and it's official police protocol to dispatch for that report. So the cops were just being lazy.
And it IS Chief Ramsey's fault. Those few that used to work now realize that working just creates arrests and increasest the crime stats, which Ramsey doesn't want. You make a case, you can no support from your superiors.
That's why the homicide closure rate is well below 50 percent. I think it's between 30 and 40.
DC: great place to commit an unsolved homicide.
sigh

"is there a contest" LOL!

That picture.......and many others (a few of which you can see on my homepage), literally made my heart soar!
God is so faithful..........just when I was getting discouraged again because Eric's homecoming was delayed, those pictures arrived in the mail, and the loving arms of God's comfort wrapped around me, and even brought a smile to my face.
btw, Free......your article is an absolute MASTERPIECE! The history of DC is fascinating, and the presentation of the information stunning!
THANKS!

You're welcome. "Stunning" was what I was going for. Actually, I was hoping to stun The Thin Man into silence!
Sigh, but it was not to be . . . .
But my day won't be complete if my good friend WvNan doesn't show up. Nan? Where ARE you?

SUPER!!!!!!! FTH, that is a good article! I guess like most people, I never thought of D.C. as being two cities. One pubic and one private.
I love it up there. It is an exciting town and easy to get lost in, just ask Taxman...
Or MAF.

DC is many cities.
I wonder what Italo Calvino would say about DC. He wrote a lovely book called "Invisible Cities" about the many facets of urban life and, more broadly, society. It's a wonderful little book.

That's why the homicide closure rate is well below 50 percent. I think it's between 30 and 40. Try 10 percent.
But no conceal carry for citizens and register them shotguns or you'll be doing time. Oh yeah don't be checking immigration papers neither. Rams sei sei don't want no discriminations going on. Got to to be giving the Salvadorian Props to the MS13 boyz up there in Adams Morgan.

I still say they all need to be horse whipped.
To: The Thin Man; FreeTheHostages
I have a hunch the exploding manhole covers caused the colors!
By the way, FTH, what does cause the exploding manhole covers?
