I know it is doubtfull, but wouldn't it be interesting if they couldn't find a private company willing to remove it.

They all understand money. Therefore, if they think it would hurt business, they will not want to move it. Freedom loving people must keep the pressure on.

The federal courts have held that the monument violates the Constitution's ban on government promotion of a religious doctrine. We desperately need a federal law to stop this foolishness.
Here's another, similar thread^ where a NPR a$$hole arrogantly declares he's happy he helped jerk the last verse of "America" from textbooks.
Like I said, we need a law... our country's basic reason for existing is being attacked.

Those defenders of the "Ten Commandments" are a great example of what real Americanism is.Courageous people indeed! You'll never see this from a bunch of foreigners or illegals and that's why those people don't deserve to live here.

I never did understand the "bump" v. "ping" thing. LOL. Well, I do understand but I still confuse the two. Goodness, as I get older I sound more and more like my mother! :)

It would be more appropriate if the news media would call them citizens instead of protesters. It's their state! They have every right to be there and are citizens exercising those rights. Sounds like freedom of assembly to me.

"We desperately need a federal law to stop this foolishness." What we need is enough brave citizens to stand gaurd 24/7 (Tianemen Square style). The fed gov will then have to reveal if it has the nerve to force these people and their monument out. Will make for a very interesting event.
Wonder if it will go down Waco style? More likely it will be Elian Gonzales style. They will sneak in, in the middle of the night, muscle the people out of the way with their jackboot thugs and machine guns, and haul the thing off.

Either zee stet vill comply, or zee stet vil pay zee fines.
The state should just have someone come in and blast the ten commandments off the monument. And leave it in place.

I wonder how many people know that the third commandment condones slavery.
Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day. Six days you may labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, your God. No work may be done then either by you, or your son or daughter, or your male or female slave, or your beast, or by the alien who lives with you ... -- Exodus 20-8
