Rush Limbaugh Not Welcome at ESPN, Says Sports Ilustrated Editor

I don't want to listen to Rush Limbaugh. I just don't need the aggravation. We simply disagree on too many issues. The bombastic, nationally syndicated radio talk show host has pummeled just about anyone who isn't a card-carrying citizen of his vision of good ol' white-bread U.S. of A. That would include feminists, gays, blacks, immigrants -- if I left anyone out, please raise your hand!

" Then what the #^%^ is this piece doing in Sports Illustrated?!?"

Because SI is notorious for their left wing rantings. That's why I don't read their garbage any more.

When we come together in our stadiums and arenas to cheer for our teams, from Little League to the big leagues, we leave our political views at the turnstiles.

The ironic hypocrisy in that statement amazes me.

But then, it's good evidence to prove that leftists are mind-numbed robots.

Just stick to football commentary.

That's exactly the game plan -- he's indicated as much. I can see a politcal pun thrown both ways occasionally, but he's there mainly to throw in his take on the other analysts comments -- kinda like the fan who's yelling at the TV "Theisman! You're an IDIOT!"

That's what I thought, but it sounded like he was talking to him one day recently while listening to him.

Why is there a liberal hit piece in Sports Illustrated decrying politics in a sports commentary venue?

Why does the race or politics of the NFL players matter? Should we base the race or politics of the commentators on the makeup of the fans? How about if we discrimate who we allow to play in the NFL based on the politics and race of the fans?

Did I miss his column praising the Baseball Hall of Fame for keeping the political views of Sarandon/Robbins out?

Sniping liberal hypocrisy isn't even a sport anymore.

Just as I chose not to listen to his radio show, I can choose not to watch Sunday NFL Countdown. It will be intriguing to see just how many potential viewers choose to do the same.

You can count 'em on a mangled hand.

In addition to his professional credentials, Johnson is a longstanding member of the National Association of Black Journalists; a board member of the International Amateur Athletic Foundation; and helps oversee the Bill Spiller/Homeboy Golf Classic. He created the Roy S. Johnson Foundation, which provides financial assistance to minority youth from his hometown (Tulsa, Okla.) who are interested in pursuing an education at prestigious Holland Hall Preparatory School, Johnson's alma mater.

Johnson is a Stanford University graduate with a B.A. in political science. He lives in New York with his wife, Barbara, and their two children.

SI also doesn't cover enough about my own team, which is why I prefer the local paper.

Uh, isn't the "black leadership" which permeates this mythical "Rush is a racist" political view to be considered a political viewpoint? This is part of the entire "we're right, you're wrong so shut up and give us money and jobs" viewpoint which Jesse and Company have been spouting for years.

Memo to: "Who ever heard of this Mr.Johnson".

"I don't want to listen to Rush Limbaugh."

Then don't a$$ hole. Freedom of speech, just turn him off, but then watch the ratings and continue to cry.

Rush also lets a black man (Walter Williams) guest host his show while he is on vacation.

No, no. Walter Williams isn't really black, not in the traditional sense. He is really a slave in the home of the plantation owner. He's an Uncle Tom. Because obviously Williams cannot think for himself. He must follow the rules the white man slave owner lays out for him. / sarcasm

Mr. Williams is one of the smartest people I am aware of but haven't had the pleasure of meeting.

Johnson's obviously a Knee-jerking Jerk! Sounds like he has imagined his own predjudces onto Rush. With a__holes like this on board no wonder they need to hype the swimsuit issue to sell the magazine.

I will bet Mr. Johnson has NEVER listened to RUSH! You can tell that by his comments.

Wrong. His decision was not based on the fact that Rush is white. He just doesn't like the political views expoused by Rush on his radio show.

No he's going further than than just saying he doesn't like Rush's conservativism. He's calling him a racist.

You lurkers never stop popping up.
