snerkel: How many of the Ten Commandments are our laws based upon?

TigersEye: How many does it take to make it historically significant?

Deflection. My question is based upon the claim that the 10 Commandments are the foundation for the laws in this country. Please answer my question. Thanks.

The answer to your question is "Who cares?".

If even one thing in the Constitution is based on one thing in the Ten Commandments that's enough to make it historically noteworthy.

Ok, here goes...

Thou shalt not kill...Murder is a crime. All degrees of murder are crimes.

Thou shalt not steal...This covers grand theft, embezzlement and right on down to petty shoplifiting.

Thou shalt not commit adultry...Yep, it is still illegal in some states.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor...Perjury comes to mind.
