Listen, it's real simple: Schwarzenegger has got to discover some meaningful conservative positions in his kit bag that will resonate with social conservatives. Being at best a squishy fiscal moderate won't cut it.

McClintock is in the best position to strong arm the Terminator into making a needed shift to the right. McClintock is performing an enormously valuable--and largely thankless--service for the Republican Party and cause of conservatism.

Schwarzenegger is finding out that he can't masquerade as a conservative and expect conservative votes by default merely because he is famous and glamorous. His fame and glamour are decided negatives in the minds of most social conservatives.

ARNOLD needs to get with the program if he wants to win.

The fellow is a light-weight with extremely heavy baggage. "They" say his best friend in Austria was Kurt Waldheim-Waffen SS. They say Arnold toasted this man by name at his wedding, to the horror of the Kennedy Klan. A failure of judgement.

He can't even announce his campaign in a proper manner & must go to ancient, tainted, & weak sources for advice. He is Perot all over again. He has never gone beyond his own private endeavors & now the 'fans' want to let him have a position of real power & authority-over a crucial portion of the US. How amateurish.

This is a time for principle & character-not on the job training for an actor with amibition far beyond his experience or training.

We will all pay either way. If he fails to be elected, likely Red Davis stays or Bustamonte wins. All of us ( we being almost all tax payers, producers ) will get the bill for a bail-out or we will suffer from the collapse of the state's economy.

Now if they would just move the border West, away from the current Kali/Nevada line, by about 100 miles, I would be even happier.

No matter who becomes or remains as Governor of Kali, it will continue to be a cesspit.
The measures required to clean it up cannot be instituted, no matter who is "in charge".

No one can-
Force the illegals out, saving millions in a variety of programs.
Force the end of Kali. vote fraud.
Force the courts to actually punish career criminals, cutting crime dramatically.
Force L.E. to actually arrest drug dealers and users, cutting crime and saving millions of dollars.
Force L.E. to actually arrest thieves, rapist, burlars, arsonist, eco-terrorist, cutting crime and saving millions of dollars.
Force the curtailment of inane "environmental" laws that strangle the Kali. economy and energy prospects.
Force the recognition of Americans unabreviated constitutional rights.
Force the ending of socialist indoctrination in all schools and publications.
Force, etc. etc. etc.!

Kali. is so far down the lunatic socialist path that any real attempt to rectify the situation would result in violence, and wild charges of varied "ism's" which the Fed. would support by taking them seriously.

It would probably be better for conservatives as a whole if Kali. remained in the hands of the socialist, if any sort of conservative is at the helm when Kali. sinks under the weight of it's own past legislative stupidity you can be sure that conservatives will reap all the blame. The "unbiased media" will make sure of it.

Thanks for the great post, DoughtyOne. I wish McClintock supporters would just stop trying to tear Arnold apart with lies and half-truths. It is most unwise to burn a solid bridge and leave a sole remaining shaky one. While Arnold may not be as conservative as McClintock, it is utterly ridiculous to pretend he is as dangerous as Bustamonte.
