Hewlett already said Tom knows he has lost and refuses to get out of the race anyway thinking this is good for his future.
I think this will show he is no good for California's future and if he gets Bustamante elected by splitting the vote when the other side is not split...well...McSpoiler's future is over as well.
People will remember and hate him, except for the Democrats of course.

Arnold's supporters seem to getting increasingly hysterical as the gap between him and Tom rapidly narrows.

If Tom hangs on a bit and takes some of the heat, he may have some influence and a shot at Boxer - but if he keeps digging at Arnold, and especially the crossover issues that will get Arnold elected, he can join Davis on the scrapheap.

McSpoiler's future is over if he doesn't get out soon. Like by tomorrow afternoon. The longer he waits, the longer people are going to remember. This guy has no chance at winning this particular race, but that's not to say that he won't be given another shot.
Assuming Issa's lining up for Senator next year, Tom could come in as budget director, gain a lot of visibility, and be set for Lt. Gov, Controller, Sec of State, etc in 2006.
Then again, he might ride this thing all the way to the end, and take a chance at not even being re-elected in TO. The golfing set out in Westlake/N. Ranch have the same memories as Newport Beach.
