Funny, long ago when I was a poor kid from a broken home, I somehow escaped a life of crime and prison without any help at all from the government.

I believe it was because of my faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Ten Commandments. You know the ones that the government are trying to ban from all public places?

More likely it was because you were smart and worked your ass off, because that seems to be the secret of people of all religions, and of none, who succeed.

Or are you gonna claim that when a Bhuddist succeeds it is the result of Satanic influence?.

Good point. I, too am the product of a dysfunctional broken home. My parents were both alcoholics who, at times, appeared to love alcohol than their family. But I was able to rise above it, perhaps because of my character. I have brothers, however, who weren't. One's addicted to chemicals and is doing 25 years to life for his third strike. Another is a member of the Hells Angels and, at 52, has spent more of his life in prison than out. Yet another is a Paster and the Chaplain of a Southern California police department.

While those of us who crawled from the hole we were in managed to do so on our own, a good argument could be made that with help, the others might have also.

And you need not tell me about the Ten Commandments. I live them everyday.
