I left organised religion over it's politics, not the word of God. Nothing can shake my faith in God. Organised religion was more than enough to shake my faith in my species. I'm comfortable with my choice and am still a Christian. Every story I read like this one only proves to me once again my decision was the right one.
To them, it's about changing the concept of sin to meet their own agenda. Live and let live is not enough. They demand justification through enforced respect.
My cousin left the Order before taking his vows as a Franciscan monk, because he knew he wouldn't be able to keep those vows. So he comprimised by marrying, keeping his faith and not making vows he knew he'd break.
THAT was a very moral decision.
