Arnold's numbers have been plummeting, and its only a matter of time before Arnold drops out.

SCHWARZENEGGER: Now stand aside, worthy adversary.
MCCLINTOCK: 'Tis but a scratch.
SCHWARZENEGGER: A scratch? Your arm's off!
MCCLINTOCK: No, it isn't.
SCHWARZENEGGER: Well, what's that, then?
MCCLINTOCK: I've had worse.

Oh, brother... I'll bet you're the type that thinks Canadian Alliance ought to just slither away and let them wunnaful RINO-equivalent Progressive Conservatives lead the way again. It's bad enough we have 'em here, but thanks to the Canadian "RINOs", that's why you got that French frog Jeannie Cretin as your fearless leader...

Then why is "Tax em and Kill em" Warren Buffet his chief economic advisor? A man who says the taxpayers of California are not paying enough???

Hey ya gotta pay for all those social programs that Arnie has in mind somehow, right?

You don't really expect me to vote for an anti-gun candidate, do you? That is never going to happen.

>>>Arnolds comes across as being or having been 'one of us.'

Arnold is big shot Hollywood type and so far, a political empty suit.

Vote McClintock!

Er, I'm a big McClintock supporter and I wouldn't make that claim at this time. Right the media focus is on Arnold and this is Arnold's race to lose. I'd like McClintock to be there to pick up the pieces if Arnold falters the same way Simon picked up the pieces when the incompetent Riordan imploded. RINOs almost always lose. Campbell lost big. Riordan would have been smoked twice by Davis. Pete Wilson did manage to win though. Wilson fit the RINO label well until Riordan and Campbell redefined the term RINO into their own image.

True conservatives don't always win either. Too many back-stabbing RINOs in the mix to sabotage the conservative candidate and say "see, I told you so" even though their favorites wouldn't have fared any better. Sometimes the truth isn't enough. Never underestimate the power of a good smear campaign, not just by Democrats, but also by RINOs.

Well-funded conservative candidates are better than RINO (e.g., Riordan) or milquetoast "moderate" (e.g., Fong) candidates because people need a reason to vote for them. Somebody with vision. Not a "me too" candidate. Not Democrat-lite.

So many people are sadly fooled by the "a far left Republican is always better than a conservative Republican when battling a Democrat" theory. Looks good on paper, but real-life experiences don't bear out that premise. Maybe in San Francisco or New York City where Republicans are a rare breed that may be the case, but California is still too diverse despite a voting registration advantage for the Democrats (there are tons of independents). But our job gets harder each year as conservatives abandon this state and illegals enter.

BTW, enough unnecessary pics por favor.

Arnold is better than Davis, just as Trotsky was better than Lenin, who was better than Stalin.

If A.S. dropped out today, I don't believe there is a prayer McClintock would win. The left would paint the man as the next coming of David Duke and it would all be over. It doesn't matter what the truth is about McClintock to the media. They'd just stomp the guy like fall grapes.

By trashing A.S., a person I'd rather not see in there, we are destroying what is more than likely the only hope we have to keeping BustaDope out of there.

You can spin this any other way you like, this is the reality we find ourselves in.

DU hates all our candidates. The democrats hate all our candidates. The separatists hate all our canidates. So they trash them and you trash some of them.

Okay you guys. Elect Bustamante. I don't think you'll ever elect McClintock, but at least A.S. won't get in.

If McClintock is in the lead on October 7th, I'll join you. Then you can appaud Governor Bustamante on October 8th, and I'll just sit here shaking my head.

"Voters in favor of recall is now down to 50%.."

That's from the L.A. Times. The problem is, the question that was posed was this: Do you support the recall if it means that you will be arrested if you say "yes?"

I understand. I understand how RINO voters support RINO candidates.

Conservative Voters support Conservative Candidates.

Arnold is a LIBERAL. I make no apologies.

I'm concerned that the difficulty in dealing with figuring out how to vote for someone (among the couple of hundred candidates) will cause some small but significant number to just vote "no" on the recall.

how would I know that Arnohld believes in most of the same things that I do? Ahnold has said either things that I don't agree with, or provided vague platitudes about fixing problems without offering any real solutions.

"The people of California have been punished enough. From the time they get up in the morning and flush the toilet, they are taxed. ... This goes on all day long. Tax, tax, tax, tax."
Arnold Schwarzenegger

"Before the carping begins about the need for the 25-point plan on each one of those items, let me be clear that these problems I just mentioned were not created in two weeks, nor will we be able to solve these problems in two weeks. Anybody who is out there telling the people of California otherwise is just a typical politician Tom McClintock."
Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Do you disagree that Californians are taxed too much? And what good would it do to support McClintock in this race when he can't get elected? His track record so far isn't the best.

During the election of Gray-Out Davis, he only won three counties in the entire state of California, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Imperial Valley. This state is screwed up due to socialist demoRATS that are in control of this State right now. The Recall started by a Grass Roots Movement reflects the people of California are FED UP!! Rinos and another Socialist DemoRat is not going to solve the problems nor did people rally behind the recall to have the same BS. Our Conversative Foundation is correct and there is no need to compromise. Regan proved this. McClintock is not just words but action. He has proven this over and over through his years with the State. We do not need a Body Builder alias Actor who can't decide whether he will raise taxes or not. Also, he needs his trainers to keep him quiet and only allow him to speak after he has been "rehersed".
I always said what is wrong with liberals is they allow the lowest of low leaders to speak on their behalf and follow them blindly.
This to me does not say much for their cause nor beliefs..
Can we say the same for the Conversative movement that we need a RINO to represent where we stand? I Think Not.....

Your post compels me to repeat this. I find it ironic, that most sitting here trashing Schwarzenegger never show up on the immigration threads, as this out of control, federal government approved invasion is one of California's *biggest* problems!

Yet most of these on this thread, yaping about being big conservatives, NEVER, EVER, show up on the immigration threads.... What phony BS.

Simon pulled out Norm. Come on fella. Geez, this is a Simon thread? Simon is no more.

Okay, September 20th. Now, feel better? Whoever is the lead candidate, they need time to allow folks to get over their first choice not making it, and fall in behind them.

Falling in behind them is critical here. The twentieth will be 17 days before the election. That's barely two and a half weeks for the lead candidate to pull everyone together and perhaps even pull in a few democrats by way of momentum.

Waiting until the 20th is too late IMO.
