As you sit on the deck Ti(McClintock)tanic, playing your chello

Cello.

Or does supporting Arnold equate with fiddling while Rome burns? There are historical music metaphors for every occasion.

BTW, my recall stance is quite simple: recall elections are a good idea; Davis should be recalled; voters should elect McClintock and when they have a conservative in office they might just realize that's the ticket to happiness in all offices; no one needs to think about dropping out until a week after the debates at earliest, if at all, unless they want to (like Simon); if Arnold becomes governor there are ways that could work out in a positive direction but history suggests quite the opposite.

Nevermind then. Besides all of that. McClintock will be the next governor of California! That drives you RINO's NUTS!

Actually if you look at the field poll, it puts McClintock in the Low 20's ie striking distance of Bustamante.

Until you're convinced McClintock can beat BustAztlante, how about holding off on criticizing the only person who may be able to. Of course that's unless you consider A.S. to be a racist seperatist.

The SCOTUS currently controls the laws regarding abortion, as the federal elected branches have abdicated it to them. The caller's stance makes perfect sense in that context. We have a great deal of pursuading to do on the abortion issue. I think we can do it in time though.

The recall is to remove a governor that has abdicated his duty to control deficit spending. It makes sense to replace him with the most likely candidate to control spending. Arnold has already promised to cut spending and Bustabudget has promised to raise $8 billion in new taxes. As they are the front runners, it becomes a simple question of how do you want to balance the budget? If Tom pulls ahead in the polls, I think Arnold supporters on this forum would vote for him, if not, I think most Tom supporters will vote for Arnold.

Was that the Field Poll this week that had Arnold trailing Bustamante?

How's things in Alaska?

Well, the governor just appointed his pro-abort daughter to the US Senate and might have cost us a senate seat in the process.

He abandoned conservative principles and the GOP -- and Alaska -- is suffering for it.

Why do you ask?

As for A.S. only being a physically fit version of BustAztlante, I guess you think A.S. is racist separatist. Interesting.

Perhaps a Gov. Bustamante would finally wake up the fat and happy Sheeple who drive to Sierra Club meetings in their big SUVs? Who think that nothing can penetrate the little fantasy world they have constructed for themselves?

RINOs like Arnold simply ensure that we are like the frogs that are slowly boiled, as opposed to getting it over with quickly.

You are so right on. Does anyone remember how the recall got going? Grass Roots Movement....The People. It is time for a true Conversative (McClintock) to get the message out.
McClintock needs to get the message out if you want this state to continue on the track that it is on, Vote NO on recall, Vote for the Busamante, or vote for Arnold. If you are truly fed up than vote for the Solution, McClintock. Regan won this state with the Conversative Message and it can happen again. We do not need anymore RINO(s) in office. They have caused enough damage....

Agreed. The Demorats don't want to run Bustabudget against a single Republican contender, especially Arnold, they want a broken field on our side.

I meant if you add Simon's, McClintock's, and Ueberoth's numbers - Tom doesn't have 20% - yet.

Evidently not many realities, constructed or otherwise,

will alter your convictions about Arnold et al.

It must be very comforting to have things sorted out in such a narrow, cut and dried simplistic fashion.

Am getting ready to run a friend's grid through

http://tiger.cpsc.ucalgary.ca:1500/WebGrid/WebGrid.html

So I'm reminded by your comments of George Kelley's observations on the fact that

all

of us are little scientists. We form hypotheses about the world as we observe it. Some of us form better ones than others of us. Generally, those of us who make better predictions with our hypotheses do better in life than those of us who make poorer predictions.

At 56, I'm pretty comfortable with my level of success at predicting what people will and won't do.

BTW, the grid will also show how permeable/rigid; narrow/broad one's constructs are.

We all--regardless of culture--construe reality with no more than 26 bi-polar constructs. The paragon super-ordinate construct for most people seems to be some variation of good/evil.

And, actually, most of us probably make most of our decisions based on a handful of higher priority constructs.

Anyway--feel free to take advantage of the free site at the University of Calgary. If you need any help--there's various help screens and I'd be willing to coach about it as well. You need not share your map results with me for me to coach you, BTW.

Please provide a link. McClintock last night said his internal polling showed him at 12% (which is as absolutely optimistic as polling gets). I haven't seen a single legitimate poll that has McClintock above 8%.

Evidently you're not from California. If you are, you should know Arnold couldn't have a negative impact on that bunch of jerks. They've been the weekest link of conservatism for a long long time. California's Republican leadership has been anything but for a decade or more.

Yes, I believe it was:

Bustamante - 25%
Arnold - 22%
McClintock - 9%
Simon - 8%
Ueberoth (sp?) - 5%
