[history]
A powerful conservative group that pumped $200,000 into Republican Bill Simon's campaign for governor last year endorsed Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday, saying the actor is the only Republican who can win the recall election to replace Democratic Gov. Gray Davis.

I'm ready for the fire and brimstone crowd to now call B1 Bob a RINO.

Conservatives are being pragmatic. Our first goal is to dump Gray Davis and our second goal is to beat Large Breasts. Our third goal is to elect a Republican Governor.

This story only says that the same group has backed Schwarzenegger and Dornan. It doesn't say that Dornan backs Schwarzenegger.

Selling out the CA GOP *ping*
Shameful. Dornan is dead wrong.

Actually, I heard elsewhere that Dornan did endorse Ah-nold, but I may be mistaken, and if I am, I retract my criticism of him. The Lincoln Club should definitely hang their heads in shame. No Conservative group with any legitimacy endorses an ultraliberal RINO committed to EXPANDING state government. The fools.

Someone here made the claim before, but I've googled, and can find nothing to substantiate that claim.

Well this is proof to all the actual conservatives on this board that the Republican Party stands for nothing except "winning". The difference between Arnold and Hillary Clinton is the R beside Arnold's name but the GOP is behind him 100%! Not only that, they want to force out the only real Republicans that are running!
I know now that Hillary, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, Tom Dashole or Teddy Kennedy would all be welcomed with open arms and wallets by the Republican party with no changes except the D beside their names!

Hmm. Perhaps someone can email him directly and ask ?

If I recall, Dornan, on Hardball or some other MSNBC show said what Ann Coulter said-- Arnold is the most electable Republican in the race.

or that if Arnold doesn't win, Bustamante will-- no other outcomes exist.
To: GraniteStateConservative
That's why the RINO should get out and endorse McClintock. :-)

That's absolutely false. I would go so far as to say that in a race with 135 candidates on the ballot, anything...and I
do mean
anything...can happen.
It all boils down to whether the voters, at the end of the day, buy Schwarzenegger's schtick.
We've still gotta see what happens in the debate.

Makes me sick. Dick Reardumb is the same kind of Conservative as Ahnold, which makes them very electable in California. The general population here in California is not willing to elect true conservatives.
Violence is going to be the only cure. Works for rioters, doesn't it?

Bob was my congressman for many years, Dana is now. They are both wrong on who they support. The GOP leadership did not support Ronald Reagan either when he ran for Governor of CA. This recall was not and has not been supported by the "leadership". They didn't want it, didn't support it and still don't! This is and has been a grass roots campaign to eject a crook. FYI the last RINO CA elected promised to "not raise taxes" and then proceeded to raise taxes as soon as he opened the door to his office. The stammering, stuttering Pete Wilson who happens to be your boy Aunold's consultant and co-chair signed the largest tax bill in CA history and did so right in the middle of a RECESSION which prolonged the recovery by years! Now if you like Aunold, you vote for him! But don't come crying to me in three years when the budget is not balanced and we are facing more debt, fewer jobs, more business exodus, more taxes and more fees. You just vote for the liberal RINO Aunold and let the Rats beat YOU over the head in 2006 with "three years later and the state is in worse shape than before!" VOTE4MCCLINTOCK...or pay$ the con$equence$!
