Bristol, the shortest track on the Winston Cup circuit, also has the highest banking, making for an appealing combination for driver and spectator alike. Added to the schedule in 1961 and resurfaced from asphalt to concrete in 1992, Bristol's attendance has increased from 18,000 to well over 150,000.

Tony Stewart will have "2021" on the back of his race car. It's the number of our local Home Depot!.....Don't usually root for TS, but will enjoy watching him this weekend.

Friday Night Pre-Race Ping for a Saturday Night Race at Bristol..... Woo Hooooo!!!!

My usual reply to someone that does not know we were talking Nascar is, "High speed left hand turns."

That was modified today, for this weekend, "Bump, Bang, Grind, Whack! - Get the he!! outta my way!!!"

I wish there was a short track out this way.

Truck race coming up at the end of Sept - tickets in hand.

Just purchased tickets (wife was NOT happy with the price. Oh well.) for '04's events.

Nascar....ROCKS!!!!!

Is the Busch race tonight at Bristol? I don't usually watch that series, but any race at Bristol is worth watching.

I see all your links were to Nascar.com. You do know about Jayski's racing site, right?

I love watcthing this race. If I could get 1 ticket to a race it would be this one. I think NBC/FOX are out of their minds to not put this on non cable channels.

Did just fine in the flooding, thanks for asking. Some rather serious water came close to the house, about 2 - 3 blocks away, but ended up being nothing more than a hassle to drive through (tons of dirt, gravel, garbage to navigate through) the next day or two. Lots of folks lost everything.

The strange part about this one was that in my 17 years in this house, flooding has never come that close. I don't know if all the detention basins, flood channels they put in directed it this way or if the storm cell was just in an unusal spot. 2.8" of rain in 30 minutes. Bad news when you have this type of ground. That translates into 2.795" of instant run-off. And it was running!

these weather maps update every few minutes (when you refresh/reload)

here's the regional doppler... (we're just left of the "G" in Greensboro on the right side of the map)

here's the local map... track is at the (+) by Kingsport...

evening bro, i'm tuned in and turned on.

i'm rooting for Harvick this weekend, he said in and interview on XM that he's donating EVERYTHING from EVERY race he races this weekend to Kyle Pettys' kid camp charity!
