Great. But none of that excuses Moore's responsibility to obey the law, which he failed to do by ignoring the court's order.

And that woman! She went right to the front of that bus!!

And once again, you falsely equate the laudable and important goals of the American Revolution to ... a piece of rock.

I'm going to go bury my copy of Heston in Cinemascope someplace in the backyard...

Next to the "Underaged Girls Go Wild And Get Molested" tape?

the only problem is Judge Moore had to present it to Judicial activist Carter-appointed ALCU favoring Judges...

Two of the three appellate judges that ruled against Moore were Republican appointees. Much as I hate to spoil a good story with some inconvenient facts ;)

Nah, I've met Luis. I think he probably has a copy of "Underaged Girls Sit Around And Discuss Proust While Drinking Earl Grey Tea."

Why is a citizen's relationship (or lack thereof) with God any of the state's business?

The citizens voted for Moore knowing exactly what he stood for. The citizens ARE the state. The state Constitution says all it's laws are based on the Almightys will.
You want to take away the will of the voters, and violate the states constitution in favor of political correctness, facist judges, and the oppression of the ACLU's facist litigation.
Do you really think that's wise?

Not really. I see no problem with a historically based monument in the courthouse. It's an honor to memoralize those who came before us.

The tyranny of the majority (or, "The American Taliban, coming soon to a Several State near YOU"). So Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, and other "mud people" just ain't welcome in the great state of Alabama, eh? Thanks for that admission.

It is about freedom of religion, not freedom from religion

There's a profound situational element here: the monument was erected in a courthouse.

Courts employ a uniquely serious, ritualistic and systematic process. It is within courts where each American's INDIVIDUAL rights and remedies are on center stage. We are individuals in that setting, Christian individuals and Shinto individuals, but we are first and foremost and ONLY Americans. Any icon celebrated in this STATE institution that infers a prejudice or advocation of any INDIVIDUAL characteristic, be it race, faith, ethnicity or gender, is a disenfranchising gesture.

The Ten Commandments could be placed in City Hall, the County Library, the Legislature or Governors Office ... but not in a courthouse. City Hall is a community institution, a Courtroom is an individual institution.

They followed the ruling of the SC, even though the SC had no Constitional right to get involved. "Congress shall make no laws..."
Guess they just weren't thinking. All that PC repitition.

Tomorrow. The 10 Commandments can go into the Library of COngress, White House, Capitol Rotunda wherever ... they are group institutions, and as a group we are Christians who value the Ten Commandments. That's a legitimate statement. In our courts, we are individuals, not all of whom are Jews or Christians. There's no place in that setting for any totem that infers prejudice or STATE authorization. That's a breach, IMO.

It's an honor to memoralize those who came before us.

Actually, Moore has publicly stated repeatedly that "This is not a nation established on the principles of Buddha or Hinduism. Our faith is not Islam. What we follow is not the Koran but the Bible. This is a Christian nation." To say that the monument is only an honor for our forefathers and nothing else ignores Moore's frequent and strident statements about his personal beliefs.

You gotta wonder what happens to a Buddhist, Hindu, or Muslim unfortunate enough to be brought before Judge Moore's court.

[When do you want the Ten Commandments crow barred off of the Supreme Court?]

Tomorrow.

Maybe you can replace with a nice I.W.W. mural.

If the voters choose them, sure they are. If they win an election, the people want them.
Maybe the next judge will be a buddist. Maybe he'll try to mix up a buddist statue and the words of our forefathers praising the Great I Am and try to make it historical too, if that can be done. It'll look funny, but hey. What ever floats their boat. It's up to the people of the state to vote for whoever they choose. In this case, they chose a Christian, and knew it.

It's late here. East coast. I'm going to have to leave the blind to lead the blind. You anti-Christ followrs are on your own.
Enjoy your 666. It'll look great on you.

I've got a confession to make - I think the shoes with the curly toes that you Talibornagain wear look cool. Like something out of the Arabian Nights.

G'nite.

Our nations laws are based on the 10 Commandments (well, before political correctness replaced the Constitution, anyway). Doesn't it make sense to put them where those laws actually are? That's what a courthouse is. A place of those laws.

Seiously. It's late here. You're on your own.
