Yes...it is. So why'd you bring it up?

You are the one who asked the question Has Judge Moore been accused of snake handling?, not me. Look to yourself for the answer.

The rule of law is not necessarily the spirit of the law. Judge Moore also swore to uphold the Constitution, and the edict from the federal judiciary to remove the monument is certainly against the spirit of the Constitution. Our founders would be embarrassed to see what a bunch of ignorant trolls our federal jurists have become.

Every president in the United States has gone to church. They may lie, but they know how to keep the sheeple happy. They know what Americans want, or they wouldn't bother.

Personally, I'd rather live in a country where ordinary people at least have the opportunity rather than being ruled by a "wiser" elite.

you mean somewhere where they don't have an independent judiciary to interpret their constitution?

which country did you have in mind?

I had a sign with a picture of Algor with a punkinhead.

ROFL! I had one with his head on a big log at a Freep a couple of years ago. I've still got the artwork around here somewhere.

Algor was so easy to make fun of, not very Christian like but "big fun".

If your answer is "To allow a hunk of rock to be erected using public funds in an American public building," you need to go back to Sunday School and pay attention this time.

Nope, just that you appartently know nothing of the civil disobedience of Jesus Christ.

Your silly reply does nothing to make me feel otherwise.

During the impeachment, they both claimed "God" was to be their judge. There are no athiests in fox holes.

If he chased the moneychangers out of an American public building, then you might just have a point. Otherwise, I'm struggling to determine the point you ARE trying to make.

In America we avoided the insanity that had gone on in Europe with its wars of religion, where Catholics burned Protestants at the stake and Protestants desecrated Catholic churches. Indeed, Catholic/Protestant strife is still going on in parts of Europe.

In the 1930's and 1940's the Catholics in Roswell, NM used to throw rocks on top of the tin roof at my parents local church during services in an effort to disrupt and drive them away. :-)

who feel guilty for being in the religious (and racial) majority and are trying to assuage their guilt by cutting their own religion down and "uplifting" the "minority religions"?

Nah. When the United States adopted their Constitution in 1789, founder John Adams observed that democracy was a system of government designed for "a religious and moral people. It is wholly unsuited for any other." Too true. Sadly, a dominant view in America and Canada today is that religion has no legitimate place in the public square.

Consequential to liberal hijacking of the First Amendment "Establishment Clause" is the dogma that religious believers can and must separate their faith from their "real world" selves -- especially their public selves. Politically correct persons professing religious faith are tolerated, so long as they selectively disavow any inconvenient tenets of that faith contradicting left-liberal ideology.

While I disagree with the federal judge's ruling (I think it violates the Tenth Amendment), I have no problem with an independent judiciary. However, I'm starting to wonder if federal judges should be elected instead of appointed. But you're changing the subject: you asked me about amending the Constitution. If a majority of the people want to amend their constitution, so be it. At least we can do that in this country. That was my point.

Link to what? http://www.gopusa.com/ That would be regarding the tax hike proposal in Alabama. There's a complete story there. Or, I don't know what link you want.

"ALL know that Judge Roy has a direct hotline to the (-)lmighty, right?"

Absolutely!! You can scorn Judge Roy and his direct hotline the the Almighty - but please know that we ALL have a direct hotline to our Lord.

A demagogue like Moore, who hides behind religion, is far more sinister. Puh'leeze - it's statements like this that really sum up the antagonism being directed at Moore and Christianity in general. If you genuinely believe this about Moore then you would most certainly have been against the revolutionaries such as George Washington during the birthing of our nation.

Great. Now I'm going to have the lyrics to the Manhattan Transfer's "Operator" in my head all night ...

"Operator, give me information ...
give me Jesus on the liiiine ...

We don't need dial up. He knows what we need before we even ask. The Holy spirit is always around.
Athiests don't have the holy spirit. They have a spirit that just sort of attaches itself to the back of their necks.

All you need to do is pray and He will be there for you.
