I didn't even know Washtington played Penn State this year. Is it in Seattle this year?

If so, it would be great to go see the great Joe Paterno coach a game. He's from a bygone age.

That I don't know. I'll check with some folks that do and get back to you.

You guys don't stand a chance. Not on a Saturday night in Columbus<\i>

Overconfidence is our best friend! With Picket and Williams there will always be a chance.

I just read the post.

I said Go Huskies, not Go HusKERS. I just caught 'Lincoln' in your post.

I was going to say that some one in UW's office has a deathwish playing two Big10 games in pre-season, and then face the Pac10.

That's insane.

I know she is claimed to be "disgruntled". Regardless, the NCAA apparently believs there is evidence she is correct. As a relative of a former TA who is now a professor at a major university with a major football program, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this stuff goes on.

Bring it. We'll be ready.

In all seriousness, that game is the ticket to get this year. Sat. night, in C-bus against the Huskies. The place is going to be a mad house.

Well, as a former friend of a cousin of a roommate of a college athlete from a middle sized school in a college 3 states away, I can comfortably say it does not.

You're obviously not from the South.

Amen, brother.

I get a kick out of the FReepers who get all irked when a topic other than politics is actually discussed, as if it's not a tad bit healthy to have actual hobbies or outside interests. I enjoyed your profile, by the way.

No, I'm from Columbus. If a US city was nuked the biggest freakin' concern in this area would be "Oh my God! This isn't going to delay Saturday's game, is it?!"

At the 4th of July fireworks in Columbus this year, Hardly anyone stood for the national anthem, but you should have seen the throngs of buckeye morons go nuts when the damn OSU fight song was played twn minutes later.

I agree. Most likely OSU will win easily, I just hope it's a close game for at least a half. I've been looking forward to this game for months and it would really suck if UW is down 21-0 half way through the first quarter.

Who cares. How dare a professor give a bad grade to a football player. She is a racist!

I seem to remember Miami saying something like that. Something about 48 straight home wins and the hot nights in the swamp.

Yeah, well.

It should be a great game.

Without a doubt it goes on, at EVERY school at EVERY level. Even high schools.

This is not something unique to Ohio State or any other school.

The TA however has many things to answer for on her own. Like for instance claims that she was ticked off at Clarrette because he wasn't interested in her the way she was interested in him.

Uh ... Lincoln would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Huskies are University of Washington.

Whoops! My mind saw H-U-S-K and jumped to the schedule (we've got Nebraska on 9/14).

The NCAA is hooting itself in the foot. The first thing he is going to do is go pro. But wait!! The NCAA and the NFL have a buddy buddy deal where only men three years removed from highschool can play. But Claret is only two years outta high school. Big problems, Claret is going to sue for lost wages because of the NFL/NCAA buddy buddy agreement. When he wins, the flood gates will be opened up and highschoolers will skip college and go into the NFL like Basketball, Hockey, Baseball. The one great NFL will turn into the mess that the other major sports are. Thanks NCAA!!!

Nope, I made a mistake. I read HUSK and assumed Nebraska, who PSU plays in Week 2. Washington isn't on the schedule, unless they also go undefeated and we see you in the Nat'l Championship...

The other game that's got everyone geeked up is the Wolfpack game.

Lot's of great teams coming to C-bus this year.

His biggest offense was the police report he filed after his car was burglarized. His car? It turned out he had a long term, deferred payment lease on the vehicle from a local dealership. The car wasn't stolen, but he filed a police report claiming that $6,000+ in private property was stolen from the car, including some 300 CDs, plus stereo equipment and one of the two television screens. $6,000 in stolen goods? He's an amateur athelete, and NCAA immediately wanted to know where he got the stuff. Then he claimed, no, the stuff wasn't worth as much as he told the police. He lied to the police? Yep, filed a false police report.

Thanks.

Also, I'd add... like the Greeks and Romans, the founders of Western Culture, weren't huge sports fans.

Someone show me another place in life where 100,000+ people laugh, scream, cry, and party together (all in a positive experience) in one setting (as they do at college football games) and I will be all for it.
