[history]
Our nation faces a severe forest health crisis. Whether it is raging fires, ravaging insects, or mysterious, disease-carrying agents that threaten to wipe out entire species, not a single region of the country is being spared the devastating economic and environmental consequences of this monumental crisis.

You mean we are not to follow the balance of nature like all the lower 48 kiss the wolves preach to Alaska?

As I watch the smoke from the fires that are burning out of control from the place GWB was supposed to speak in central Oregon today, and see it cover MT. Hood from view, got to wonder just how many unemployed folks in Oregon could have prevented the whole damn thing if they had been allowed to go to work and thin the forest?

Up here, burns are a natural occurance; they only worry about them when near towns & villages. Ran up the yukon last week about 50 miles. There were burns every mile or so on the bluffs started by lightning.
Some of our southeast communities are economic ghost towns from the Feds destruction of timber industry. Really hits home when govt ruins your home.
Don't know who I hate more, the watermellon greenies or the fed park people who plan to destroy any economic activity everywhere they can. You would think it would end once the repubs are in, but too many career greenies still employed.
Hope you all get some weather.

I lost a biz that for 23 years was able to pay major Mall rent cause the economy of Oregon is in the tank. For three years we have lead the country with 8+% unemployment. The greens and their lawyers have killed the timber industry and all those good, small timber towns.
But those bright bulbs in our legislature saved us yesterday when the voted in the biggest tax increase in state history. Aren`t we the lucky ones.
