And if he is being tempted, Paul's passage states 'the Lord has provided a way of escape'...is the governor being tempted with resignation? Is this the Lord's way out?

The SF Chronicle reports that Governor Gray Davis claim his faith in today's Town Hall Meeting in Los Angeles. But it seems that Davis has misquoted his Bible verse, then maybe not

The Chronicle writes that Davis said, ..."I have faith in God," Davis told a town hall audience here, showing a rare personal side. "I carry a little card around with me that says, 'Nothing will happen to me today that the Lord and I can't handle together.' I trust you will make a good judgment and I believe in the end, people will want me to continue my job. There are no guarantees in life..."

The actual verse is found in 1 Corinthians 10:13, it states, "no temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

The writer of this passage, Paul, is offering a solemn warning against independent self-confidence of one's moral security. Funny, but there is nothing in this verse about trials, rather temptations...one must ask, what is tempting the governor right now?

And if he is being tempted, Paul's passage states 'the Lord has provided a way of escape'...is the governor being tempted with resignation? Is this the Lord's way out?

Funny, in the last 5 years of watching Gov. Dufis screw up this state, I never precieved him as being a siritual person. He now wants us to believe he thinks the Lord will deliver him from this recall?!!!!

Rush was talking about this earlier this week, saying he believed there would come a time when x42 would make the call and tell Dufus the game was over and he should resign.
