Our Creed

We affirm the preservation of the present definition of marriage being the lawful union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others. We do so in defense of the core unit of our society, the traditional family, whose stability is required for a healthy and prosperous nation. Marriage is immutable and therefore is not subject to any political or legal manipulation. In memory of our forefathers and for the benefit of our posterity, we stand united in defense of this venerable and irreplaceable union of one man and one woman.

MASS RALLY/TOWNHALL DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE AND THE CONSTITUTION AUGUST 27TH, 2003

The Christian Coalition International Canada is pleased to announce a Mass Rally /Townhall Meeting to take place at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship Centre facilities on August 27th from 7.30PM to 10.30PM. TACF is located at 272 Attwell Drive, Toronto, Ontario, M9W 6M3, near Pearson International Airport. Directions will be available on CCIC Inc's website at: www. ccicinc.org , as well as at the bottom of this e-mail. Members of Parliament, the Senate of Canada, Rev. David Mainse, formerly President of Crossroads Television Systems, and many others will be speaking at this important Mass Rally/Townhall Meeting event on the subject, that is expected to contribute to shaping the future direction of our nation in the years to come. The Rally / Townhall will center around the subject of the Defense of Marriage in the context of the current debate on the proposed Same-Sex Marriage draft legislation, and associated freedom of speech to oppose such, which is threatened by the Hate Crimes Private Member's Bill C-250, which is currently pending before Parliament. These two connected legislative initiatives will have far reaching consequences for the free exercise of all religions, the moral basis of Canadian society as a whole, and will affect the expression of moral viewpoints contrary to quasi-human rights based homosexual equality rights contained in these legislative proposals. Bill C-250 proposes Criminal Sanction for any expression of fact, opinion or belief deemed contrary to sexual orientation rights proposed to be codified in the Hate Propaganda sections of Criminal Code of Canada. The so-called "religious text exemption" added to this Bill is wholly inadequate, will only serve to undermine religious freedoms, as it does not preclude Criminal charges being laid, but similar to existing legal defenses, only serves as a vague and undefined defense after the fact. These are extremely serious issues for Canadians of all religious backgrounds and all citizens of traditional moral persuasion. Please join the Christian Coalition International Canada in opposing these radical changes affecting our freedoms, the social fabric, and the Constitution of Canada. We look forward to seeing you at this most significant event at TACF August 27th, 2003. The meeting will start at 7.30PM sharp.

CFAC Action Alert: urgent and time limited

Dear Fellow Canadians,

As you know, a legislative crisis has been brewing in recent months as a result of court rulings in Ontario and British Columbia and Quebec. A select few Judges are telling Canadians that the exclusive definition of marriage as between one man and one woman is "unconstitutional" and that marriage is redefined as between "any two people." Our federal government should have appealed these ridiculous court rulings, but not only did they refuse to do this, they instead have begun drafting new legislation that reflects the judges personal opinions dictating same sex "marriages." Canadians are expressing their outrage at such dictatorial and foolish decision-making by the government. I want to thank the hundreds of thousands of you who have taken the time to voice your concerns to your elected MPs. To this point, the democratic wishes of Canadians have not been taken into account. However, Parliament will be voting on this legislation, maybe as early as this fall, though perhaps not until 2004. That vote is where our elected MPs have an opportunity to do the right thing, the very thing they have been elected to do: represent the views of the people. MPs must be encouraged, not only to defeat the government's legislation, but to pass new legislation that overturns the court rulings and restores the one man-one woman definition of marriage. It is up to all of us to ensure they continue to hear from us. Canadians do not want marriage re-defined. They want to preserve the current definition: "between one man and one woman exclusive of all others". Not only must this definition be preserved, the legislation must be strengthened to ensure courts cannot haphazardly alter it again. Parliament alone has the power to do that. CFAC's leaders and other leaders have met to discuss additional measures to pressure the government to do what is right for our country and for future generations.

CFAC is spearheading an effort called 'Millions for Marriage' for the week of September 1 to 7. This week will be declared Sanctity of Marriage Week and will include a "Sanctity of Marriage Sabbath/Sunday" followed by "Sanctity of Marriage Prayer Rallies" at each local MP's office, Sunday September 7 at 3 PM.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? [we have one month to make this happen] We are inviting profamily groups, people of all denominations and faiths, and Canadians who simply know marriage is ONLY a man and woman to join us in a united national action that will send an unmistakable message: the desecration of the sacred institution of 'marriage' will not be accepted and will not go unchallenged. The "sleeping giant" is awake.

For more information, please refer to a special website that is set up for marriage: www.sanctityofmarriage.ca. This is a joint effort of all who believe that marriage is sacred and defined as a covenant union between one man and one woman exclusively.

MARRIAGE PRAYER RALLY: We especially want to encourage every concerned Canadian to participate in a Marriage Prayer Rally at their local MPs CONSTITUENCY office. These prayer rallies are planned for Sunday, September 7th at 3 PM local time.

Your MP's office address

(Note: If you are reading this message in plain text and are not able to click on the above MP address link, then click here):

http://www.parl.gc.ca/information/about/people/house/PostalCode.asp?lang=E&source=sm

Help get this information out to every church and every friend - every Canadian you can - and ask them to be at the rally. The purpose of having these prayer rallies at 301 MP offices across the country is to pray and declare that marriage is and shall be "one man and one woman exclusively" in the nation of Canada.

WE NEED ORGANIZERS : We are looking for organizers and people to help make the rally a success. For this to be effective, we need lots of help in every riding. It is not a huge task but someone has to do it. If you are able to help organize a rally in your riding, please e-mail us at: organizer@familyaction.org

BEFORE you e-mail, please: find out your MP's name and your riding. In your e-mail message, please state your name, city/town, province, telephone number, federal riding, and MP's name. Please also state whether or not you belong to a church (and if so which one, and the name of your pastor/priest/rabbi).

You may also call our toll-free number, ONLY if you are committed to help organize: 1-877-242-1094. If you are simply looking for more information, or are undecided about helping, please visit the website www.sanctityofmarriage.ca WE NEED CLERGY: a pastor, priest or rabbi, to lead the prayer and MC the event. If you think your clergy may be interested, please pass this e-mail on and ask him or her to e-mail directly: clergy@familyaction.org OR have them call CFAC's executive director, Brian Rushfeldt, toll-free at 1-866-787-2777. Please do not call on behalf of your clergy. We must hear directly from any interested clergy. Thank you for your consideration of this urgent request.

Brian Rushfeldt, Executive Director

Since it will a rare free vote in Parliament, Canadians should tell their MPs they want the Constitution amended to restore the traditional definition of marriage. And if enough people speak and make themselves heard Parliament may do the right thing for a change.
