"...clown ????" You would use that as an adjective to describe Keyes? My friend, you are truly mistaken. You may disagree with the man, but he always speaks with well thought out, and excellently distributed, thought.

Do try to be more imaginative in your flames. My reply was just as imaginative as your original.

I voted for him in the primaries
My hubby and I both voted for him in the SC primary.
We were very sorry to see him bow out.
He is awesome in debate.
Unfortunately, too many people don't know what to think of a man so "unpolitician-like".

So, when you can't argue the content, you argue the person. Classicly Clintonian

I don't need to know his place on the bell curve to know mine... and honestly don't feel threatened by the mouthy little populist (likely on the Coral Ridge payroll).
But I do rather cackle at the image of him being left by the cops in the pizza hut parking lot, after he tried to crash the debates to which he was not invited....
and the "bush is a murderor" comments he made in that election run, hardly make alan an intellectual giant in my view. he called bush murderor... I call him an idiot. He's lucky he's not in prison for that comment alone.

"Considering Keyes is a grifter, I do wonder if his appearance right about now has been bought by a certain ministry based in Fort Lauderdale.Keyes never manages to clear even my low expectations for him."
Looks like Keyes is gearing up for a fundraising tour. He hasn't had this much press since the Bush bashing during the stem cell debate. Maybe one of his kids is starting college this fall and he needs more cash flow.

But give me a link. I don't know if there is one. I happened to be at the event. It was a Conservative event, and Jim Robinson was honored.
The FReepers there had their mouths open in disbelief, and a couple even walked out.
Keyes has never been invited to another major conservative forum since.

Gee, a brand new person knows about Live Threads and posts one. I am so impressed. Most new members are nervous to even reply to threads. You however, are just brimming with self confidence.
Cal, is that you? Hehe.

"But what's wrong with criticizing Bush"
absolutely nothing, and I do it a lot.

He's just about as conservative as they comeOh, honey! He's not only conservative, he's a true conservative! Woohoo!
To: Those_Crazy_Liberals
So you're saying that he probably doesn't believe it what he's doing, he's just in it for the money? Wow. Is the world really that synical? I'm sorry, call me naive, but I believe he is fighting for a cause, and whether you agree with him or not, he always presents a good case.

Yes, that's it. After failing as a radio talk show host, a presidential candidate and a tv host, what the people really need is MORE Alan Keyes. Eventually, with more, they'll accept him (like we accept bees after about 1000 stings)

I agree that Keyes comes off as angry, because he IS angry. Really? He was smiling during the entire debate and was quite amiable both times I've met him, and he doesn't know me from a hole in the wall.
"He's pissed that he has to deal with the rabble of the American public"
Post proof
"Because, you see, Alan is perfect.
Alan is a Christian and has acknowledged in public the fallen nature of man. The above sentiment is nothing more than venomous hyperbole. Why?
Everything he says is perfect. What's more, he KNOWS he's perfect. He's moral, and we're not.
Post proof
He has a very high opinion of himself, and he wallows in the praise he gets from sycophants like you.
Post proof.
And moreover, please indicate what I'm getting out of liking Alan Keyes? The term sycophant means "self-seeking flatterer", I'm gaining absolutely nothing by supporting Keyes, in fact, looking at this thread it seems as if I'm only getting criticism (and I'm shocked). What makes me or anyone else a "sycophant" for appreciating Dr. Keyes?
Alan despises having to deal with the day-to-day, preferring to float on the clouds of moral indignation and sanctimony.
Post proof

Bush needs to be challenged by a "true conservative" and Al could be the man! He hears from millions everyday who want what he wants and would love him to be POTUS...if he can pay off his existing campaign debts first ;-)
Normal DC blabbermouths ,with no job prospects, at least attempt to hook up with a thinktank or a University, but why can't Al?
To: VeryUnprogressive
Yeah, Keyes seemed confident and happy this evening. I saw that too.
