Look how they fled Iraq after ONE building was leveled. I shudder to think of what would have happened to America if we hadn't responded to the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings and the attempted takeout of The Pentagon in the wake of 9-11!

When is Annan's term over, anyway? He isn't Sec'y Gen'l for life, is he?

Not life but it'll seem that long to some of us. His first term was 1/1/97 through 12/31/01. He was unanimously (!) elected to serve a second term to serve from 1/1/02 through 12/31/06.

Yeah, the 9/11 terrorists were all uneducated rubes ... no, that's right, they all were college-educated and from well-to-do families, and many of the suicide bombers in Hamas have a similar profile.

but Israel also profits from those terrorist attacks. It gives her reasons to build fences, expand the land occupation through settlements and maintain an occupying force in foreign land.

Yeah, I guess Israel shouldn't have provoked all those wars against it's neighbors - oops, wait, they didn't. Germany and Japan lost territory after they lost WWII - but somehow the Arabs should be immune to losing territory after provoking three wars against Israel?

Oh, and Israel returned territory to Egypt once Egypt made peace. If the Palestinians want land back, they should renounce terrorism. But the longer they resort to such, the less reason Israel has to return ANY land for peace.

But I am talking here about Hamas. Look at the profile of most suicide bombers... poor, ignorant, angry.

Most of the Hamas bombers I have read about were college educated as well. Seems that the more education you get in that part of the world, the dumber you get. Which is probably why that region is such a mess in the first place.
