If I'm not mistaken, Judge Moore has to wait to see if USSC will hear the case, but they refused to stay the order to remove the monument now.

BTW, what is it many of you Catholics and Orthodox here (I'm leaving the Jews outta this) have with Protestantism and Christian Conservatives.....that is driving your zeal here, it's so transparent. You're all hiding behind some the "Separation Wall" dogma which is nothing more than living breathing document hogwash.

You wish to look at the history and how it's gone down between your sects and ours. I'm part Huguenot, you guys have a lot of gall to be judging us (falsely) for using the state to impose religion.

It's plain to me that many of you simply don't care for Protestantism....particularly that which is unashamedly culturally Conservative.

What was so wrong with Montag's posts btw?

Strawman, wardaddy. Nobody's said that, or implied it. You needn't be looking to be offended.

He said that BamaG and I wanted to shoot somebody. No violence posts on FR.

You have a fair set of questions and observations, deserving of a fair answer. It would take an entire book to do it in, though.

In short, in this country at least, while the Orthodox have prayers for everything from waking up alive to blessing a tractor, those things tend to be done within the contest of family or the gathering together as a church. The notion of proselytization or proclamations of faith as public acts just don't resonate well, and most of us have heard enough less than scholarly criticisms or uninformed observations of our own practices from folks like Roy Moore to be very reluctant to encourage his version of aggressive Christianity.

Believe it or not, I really want people to go to their churches and support their churches; I loved what Dubya said about his faith last week, I adore the job Dave Ramsey does with what i've long figured really is a ministry, and am genuinely fond of military, fire and police chaplains, and I want Christians to gathter together and make good examples to the rest of the world - that would be very cool.

I (a catholic) have no idea what you are talking about. I and every other Catholic in my life consider prots and evangelicals as our brothers in arms. We are are all in this fight together. Why the chip on you shoulder?
