Caption the real extremists:

George Whatley, left, of Birmingham, Ala., holds his Bible as he speaks with reporters in front of the State Judicial Building in Montgomery, Ala., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003. Whatley was representing the Alabama Afterthought Association which has called for the removal of the Ten Commandments monument from the building. Chief Justice Roy Moore has said he would defy a federal court order to remove the monument from public display. Yes, it DOES say Freedom FROM Religion Foundation. Who are the real intolerant ones?

Greg McDowell, left, of Orlando, Fla., and Linda Driggers of Odenville, Ala., stand outside the State Judicial Building in Montgomery, Ala., Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003. The small group of several dozen atheists were demonstrating over the refusal of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore to obey a federal court order to remove his 5,200 pound Ten Commandments monument from public display in the building. Anti-Catholic bigots showing their true colors...

Why do these people take such joy meddling in the religious life of people in Alabama? Why can't they just stay home in their atheistic mecca and leave God fearing people alone?

I don't even want to think what that man holding the Bible might do with it. :(

And what's up with folks from Wis and FL coming here to protest??? It's not snowbird season yet! (we get quite a few from FL..guess they can't read the map to their own beach?).

You mean these guys?

A crowd gathers outside the Capitol in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003 for a rally to support Chief Justice Roy Moore who has said he would defy a federal court order to remove the 5,300 pound Ten Commandments monument from public display in the State Judicial Building. Police would not estimate the size of the crowd, which appeared to be several thousand people, possibly as many as 10-thousand. (AP Photo/Dave Martin)

Could a church rent a sound van and go down there playing hymns. That'll drive them away.

"Why do these people take such joy meddling in the religious life of people in Alabama?"

Because they so desperatly need us to be Bible-thumping, sibling marrying, slave whipping rednecks who NEEEEEDD their enlightenment. It makes them feel better about their own lives. Ever since George Wallace stood in that school doorway defying the feds to tell him how to run his state, our tenacity frightens them.

That and I think the 'Thou shalt not commit adultry' and the 'no other gods before Me' might tick them off a good bit.

Amen. I would love to know a bit more about these anti-religious protesters with Alabama addresses. Like how long they've been here and where are they from originally. They sound like no Alabamian I've ever known.

If atheists don't believe in God, then what are they protesting? Sometimes I think they have more faith to not believe, than many do to believe! (I mean, it takes more faith to not believe)

If Atheists thought religion is such a rediculous and weak minded way of thinking...then why are they so afraid of it?
