Speaking of Oliver Stone, did you notice in 'Any Given Sunday' the several references to the illuminati?

Yep it was Kennedy's Johnson that did him in

There's a new book about the assassination of Garfield. Garfield's VP, Chester Arthur, who succeeded him, was a member of the other wing of the Republican Party at the time. Garfield's assassin also belonged to that wing. The author said in a C-SPAN interview there is no evidence proving that any politicians of that wing were involved in an assassination plot, but the author obviously has suspicions along those lines.

I don't think LBJ "did it", but I think he was complicit and approving of those that did do it. I remember very clearly LBJ smiling on TV the same day of the assaination. He was a ruthless man and was also complicit with those who drug on the Vietnam war.

Years ago I heard Johnson backed the Canadian Prime Minister against the wall for his opposition to US involvement in Vietnam. If that story was true, it shows LBJ could get violent, and he did hate the Kennedy's, but I'm still not totally convinced of this. I think it was Castro or the Russians.

"He should be dug up and hung"
LOL I love it!

Those who have read any of Robert Caro's biography of LBJ know how utterly ruthless and unprincipled the man was in his ambitions.

I have a bizarre and outlandish hypothesis: Oswald pulled the trigger and acted alone.

MacBird bump.

I have believed this to be the case since Walter announced Kennedy had died!

LBJ was not involved in any way shape or form in Kennedy's assassination ... this is pure bunk!
But you have to remember where we are...Free Republic, where conspiracy theorists have found tons of company. The 'Flight 800' threads really do get rather amusing if one's in the mood for an evening of fantasy.

Almost every JFK conspiracy theory is built upon one single critical foundation: Lee Harvey Oswald didn't shoot President Kennedy.
Some people just won't believe that a US Marine qualified as a Marksman could possibly make two hits in several seconds on a human target from less than 100 paces. The Mannlicher-Carcano is actually a decent shooting rifle, and Oswald was basically a competent rifleman.
I've never seen convincing evidence that leads me to believe that Oswald was incapable of making those shots. It's the only thing about the Kennedy Assassination that I'm sure about.

Johnson said shortly after he was sworn in, "years from now everyone will say I had Kennedy killed so I could be president." Or words very close to this. It's in one of the old documentry films.

You know the liberals will outraged to say LBJ did it.
They want it to be Hoover or Goldwater or somehow
a right wing thing.

Someone with your screen name may be interested to learn that Bob Taft didn't get the Republican nomination in 1940 because the isolationist chairman of the convention was assassinated by British intelligence in cooperation with the FDR administration, at least if we are to believe Gore Vidal's novel Golden Age.
To: Inspectorette
On those tapes from the Johnson white house, LBJ pleads with Earl Warren to lead the commission into JFK's death. He practically begs him.

I didn't Oswald qualified as Marksman.
In fact I read before he was a terrible shot
and basicly got booted out of the Marines.
And his fellow soldiers laughed at what an incredibly
bad shot he was. He was said to be by far the worst
shot in his Company.

There was another book written years ago with this same premise.
Remember the photo of LBJ being sworn in on the plane with Jackie Kennedy next to him? Well, the author included another photo taken seconds after that one...shows LBJ turning to a man behind him and both were beaming with looks of triumph! Jackie still in shock beside him.
I wish I could remember the title.

Reynolds Wrap won't do the trick, it has to be actual
tinfoil. Aluminum only makes it worse.

I recall an interview with a Mafia boss many years ago when he mentioned that whenever there is a murder you first look to who gained from it.
That would indicate Johnson, and I think he was capable of anything. Still I don't really think he did it. I think it was Oswald with maybe an accomplice. I always wondered if they had Oswald set up as a patsy and were probably surprised that he in fact did make a hit, alhtough probably someone else also did so.
