He was the guest of honor for the 25th year anniversary of prop 13 passage a month or so ago. Polls?

That's the NH way and we have so much cash, our dumb RINO general court tried to boost our budget by 10%-- higher than any state in the U.S.

So, go Tom! But if you're wayyyy behind later, Tom, I'm voting for Arnold!

Yeah, we're what, two weeks into this circus? Since the GOP doesn't have a primary, now is the time to hash out intra-party issues, and then see how the landscape looks 2-3 weeks prior to October 7th.

Cruz would be the worst thing for the economy of the country. Try to see beyond your infantile reasoning and think about what is best for America.

I couldn't agree more about Cruz. So what I'm wondering is, why are you sending this to me? I never said otherwise.

Arnold explains that for the last two weeks he has had all these people going over the budget, and every time he asks them what the operating deficit is, they come back with wildly different numbers (4 billion, 7.8 billion, 6 billion, 9 billion) that is why you need an audit. You can't make good decisions without good information.

Every day that this fiasco goes on it sounds more to me like a Republican win by Schwarzenegger insures that 90% of the Democrat's agenda moves forward.

Care to support this absurd assertion?

That is false.

Is Bloomberg not the worst all around? He sucks on social issues. He sucks on economic issues. He sucks charisma-wise. He micromanages. He has no qualms in involving government everywhere. He has no qualms using the power of government to control people's lives.

I know there has to be a redeeming quality somewhere in there. Maybe he is kind to kids in his neighborhood. I don't know. But man, he has few redeeming qualities politically.

Do you have any idea if there will be a transcript of this somewhere? I think it needs to be posted. Too many rants on here without information about what Arnold said.

I thought he was very impressive, sounded very conservative fiscally, talked about working for the people rather than the special interests, showed quick wit, command of the details, and political skill.

No social issues were addressed in the questions, as far as I could tell. Anyway, I would like to see the transcript up so people can actually read what was said.

Cruz would be worse than Davis. Let him win... He'll be out by 2006 and we can elect a real Republican.

If Cruz wins, you and all the other Gringos and other non-desirables will encouraged to leave the new republic of Aztlan.

After a close review of the tapes, slo-mo, a determination will be made of what he REALLY said. Tax increases are usually disguised extremely well, sometimes as "user fees."

Just the other day someone posted a very carefully-worded Arnie statement which made it clear that he will NOT touch Prop13. Good. It's a start. There remain sales/use taxes, income taxes, estate taxes, gasoline/cig/"vice" taxes, and capgains taxes.

We'll see.

Polls?

Was he napping for the last week since Warren made his attack on Prposition 13?

That's unfair. It's difficult enough to calculate large budgets if you are in the inside, let alone if you are outside.

"McClintock would have 17% right now if lame-ass Bill Simon dropped out..."

Well, 17% won't win the election, whether Simon or McClintock, or both combined get that total.

We have already seen polls with single candidates at 25% and 22%.

You talk like being at 17% and 3rd place is a big deal.

Education is 40% of the budget... So if you have a $100 billion budget, and you don't touch 40 billion of it, you are left with 60 billion, and a 28 billion hole. Try cutting everything by half and see how that plays.

On Fox News the other day they were saying that 80% of the budget was non-discretionary as a result of various propositions plus unfunded mandates. If that is true, then you could cut all discretionary expenditures and still have a deficit.

We also know one other thing for sure. Right after he's elected, he going to appoint a boatload of "committees" to examine the issues. Also, he talked a lot about our abominable worker's comp laws. He flat-out waffled on the raising taxes issues, which everyone seems to be ignoring. ("Never say never.")

I would have liked to have heard something about the ridulous situation we are in vis-a-vis illegal immigration, but obviously that subject is verboten. Don't ask me why.

I must say, his speech could have been a lot worse, but overall I didn't find much real meat in it. He wouldn't commit to one solid thing he would actually DO. I also didn't care for the "Buffet on my left, Schultz on my right" pandering. I'd prefer to see all the idiots off his left, but then, I'm funny that way.

I must say, Arnold looks good here. I was wondering if he was an idiot in the last couple weeks, his speech was horribly confused. Today he seems organized and quick witted. I'm shocked.

Well, George, I am not sure exactly how those of us who are "conservative" got into this. I guess if you happen to have lived in California all your life, like I have, you just accept the fact that you were born into a difficult situation.

Well, I lived in California a few years back, and I had the best time of live living there. I still have many relatives living there, including one of my siblings.

California is a beautiful state, with the most dramatic geography and contrast available to anyone with a car.

Despite the liberal abnoxious political climate, most people there tend to work very hard, and live and let live.

I hope that the current mess is bad enough to jolt most Californians into choosing better leaders.

Schwarzenegger is a conservative Republican.

With his track record, he's not even a REPUBLICAN, except that's what he calls himself.

I, of course, am Elvis Presley.

You figure out who that is.

Maybe Bustamante vs a Conservative = Cruz running unopposed.
