First, it's a little over 3 years, not 2. Second and more importantly, although it's possible that a Cruz win would be followed by a GOP conservative win, history certainly does not suggest so. The last arguably conservative governor was Reagan, elected in 1966 and 1970. I heard the argument that the GOP should support strong conservatives in 1998 and 2002, that a loss would only lead to a "comeback" in the next election. But it's like being a Cubs fan: wait 'til next year. Life's too short. I'm with Hugh Hewitt on this one, unless Arnold collapses and/or my truly preferred candidate, and prob. yours too, McClintock, makes a huge (hugh?) surge.
