MONTREAL -
Quebec police say a drunk driver hit a group of three men and continued driving for an hour with the body of an 18-year-old man stuck in the windshield of his car.
Nicholas Fortin and two friends were struck by a car as they were leaving a bar in Ste-Adele, north of Montreal, early Saturday morning.
People outside the bar rushed to help the two injured men at the side of the road, unaware that a third person had been carried away by the fleeing car.
Police arrested a driver 50 minutes later, with the victim still lodged against the windshield.
Fortin was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 59-year-old driver, Gilles Francouer, was taken to a police station and failed alcohol tests. In court on Monday, Francouer was formally charged with eight offences related to drunk driving and causing death and injury.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges. Francouer will remain in jail pending his next court appearance, scheduled for Aug. 28.

Is it possible that Gilles took driving lessons from "Chante Mallard," the Texas Tigress?

The 59-year-old driver, Gilles Francouer, was taken to a police station where he said, "That was a person? No wonder. I darn near ran out of windshield solvent trying to wash it off."

Lot of this going on lately. Are they making windshields thinner or something? The NHTSA should investigate...
