[history]
Listening to some Republicans and conservatives on the possibility of winning the California governorship lately has been dismaying. "We don't really want to win this race. California is in such a mess it can't be fixed and we will be tagged as failures if we try. Let the Democrats continue to stew in their mess." Or a variation on this theme: "Whoever wins will not have a mandate so he/she will not be able to govern, especially with the huge Democrat majorities in the California legislature."

So, now you're turning on Arnold because he actually supports a tax cut! You're a phony. Takes one to know one. However, I never supported him to begin with. My candidate is the great Gary Coleman. I have even offered to give him a piggy back so he can reach the microphone to make his victory speech.
By the way, do you always say you are going...and then return two minutes later?

To quote a great moderate -- yes and no. As for Gary Coleman, I don't think he meets California's gubernatorial height requirements.
To: Reagan Man
And Reagan's way was to stick by conservative
principals understanding that conservatism is
a winning hand. Not to abandon conservative
principals by supporting an empty headed
liberal like Arnold.
Go with the man with Reagan's principals McClintock.
And yes with the RIGHT policies California
can turned around. But not with someone who think
Warren Buffet has the right ideas.

Look, if you can sit on a cushion to post at your daddy's computer, Gary can improvise too.

I could make a real cruel joke bout your momma here, but it probably would get pulled by an admin mod.
Satire can be dangerous to innocent bystanders...:)
Enjoy sparring with ya, I hope Arnie wins, but I don't see it happening.

"He will call for repeal of the tripling of the car tax that [Democratic Gov. Gray] Davis instituted," And after he "calls for it", and the dems say no, he'll shrug and say "I tried"
Tom McClintock said his first action will be to sign an executive order doing away with it. No "calls for", no "requests", HE WILL ACT. It was put in with an executive order, it'll be taken out with an execuive order.
Arnie's a BS artist.

No, I munch on liberal Republicans, then I stomp all over them, and then I throw them away. You see, they're as dangerous to our nation as liberal Democrats.
To: holdonnow
Coleman rocks, if he wins, they are gonna dig up Dana Plato to be Lt. Governor, but she is overqualified...

McClintock can win if we conservatives unite
behind him and he has the right vision and ideas
for California and knows how to govern.
To: Yaelle
Sorry, Rush is not talking to Arnold. He's talking to the "true" conservative in the bunch - McClintock.
"Now, one man with a vision" - McClintock has the vision, and Rush said so after he listened to Tom's vision for the day he becomes Gov. - so far Arnold has only liberal democrat ideas from his appointed staff.

And Arnold is listening to Warren Buffet who
thinks proposition 13 is the biggest "problem"
that California faces and the most important
thing the state needs right now is a massive
property tax increase!
To: jjbrouwer
Deep. Really deep. Your prescription drugs seem to be kicking in.

Being "Vichy" California is no way to live ... you got to fight
To: Central Scrutiniser
Your class-envy, victim-mentality is showing. This emotional weakness makes you a sitting duck for Marxist DemocRAT propaganda, by the way.
