[history]
Listening to some Republicans and conservatives on the possibility of winning the California governorship lately has been dismaying. "We don't really want to win this race. California is in such a mess it can't be fixed and we will be tagged as failures if we try. Let the Democrats continue to stew in their mess." Or a variation on this theme: "Whoever wins will not have a mandate so he/she will not be able to govern, especially with the huge Democrat majorities in the California legislature."

Meanwhile, if Arnold is such a Democrat why are Teddy and the rest of the Camelot Clan refusing to support his brave challenge? because they're trying to pull the conservative vote to Arnie, and publicly endorsing him would blow that?
If I were trying to defeat a truely conservative candidate I knew had a very good chance of winning, I'd try to convince conservatives that the only chance they had was to not split the vote and that they should vote for the same guy ALL THE LIBERALS WILL BE VOTING FOR! Arnie.

So, you're a Black Helicopter moderate Republican. Have you lost your mind? Twice now you've participated in an effort on this thread to demean Rush and his motives -- first, by suggesting he wrote this op-ed for some business reason, and now joining with your fellow aluminum hat friend by suggesting he's trying to hype his ESPN gig. You're a punk. The spectacle of a lawyer calling anybody else a punk is just too precious.
And I'm not suggesting that Rush wrote this op-ed.
As a matter of fact I suspect that you wrote it for him, which is why you a working man are hanging around at this late hour to see what we lumpenproletariat have to say about it.

Well, looky here, smart guy. Even if you're too slow to get it, Arnold seems to be wising up. From today's Washington Times
--Schwarzenegger to call for car-tax reduction: Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger today will announce a major tax-cut proposal in a bid to garner conservative support for his California gubernatorial campaign. "He will call for repeal of the tripling of the car tax that [Democratic Gov. Gray] Davis instituted," Rep. David Dreier, California Republican and co-chairman of Mr. Schwarzenegger's campaign for the Oct. 7 recall election, told The Washington Times last night.
"He is going to be strongly conservative, clearly demonstrate that he is his own man and stand up to Warren Buffett," said Mr. Dreier, referring to the liberal Democratic billionaire who is a personal friend and top economic adviser to Mr. Schwarzenegger's campaign."

if you can't attack the message, attack the messenger.
VERY Clintonesque. Congrats.

You were right on this
Not a direct Tom McClintock endorsement
But a "Do The Math/Connect The Dots" for Tom

Rush is this guy that used to be fairly interesting and entertaining back before he became ultra rich and got a trophy wife.
Nowadays, his biggest concern is not having to wait too long on the tarmac when his private jet takes him to a golf tournament. He is a classic "Limousine Conservative."

Now do you see how foolish you and your friend are? Even Arnold is taking our advice, while you continue to stand for absolutely nothing. Well, my work is done here. Have a good night. Thank me.

Thanks for your deep, thoughtful and wise post. None of us could have lived without it. Dope.

Even if you're too slow to get it I defer to your superior intelligence...
Yes, that is mighty big of Arnie. His millionaire friends will be relieved that he could save them a few cents on their car tax.

So, now you're turning on Arnold because he actually supports a tax cut! You're a phony.

Limbaugh has to attract liberals to his ESPN gig. He can't afford to alienate half the viewing audience,so he has to burnish his anti Republican bona fides, by running down everyone and anything, associated with the party. In his interview with Sports Illustrated,Limbaugh said he believes the ESPN spot is just the beginning of his football career. To coin a phrase," It's the football, stupid."Are you saying that Rush NOW has a higher standard of "good enough" or at least a higher standard than what is realistically pratical and that his new higher standard of "good enough" coincides with his new football career?

"To coin a phrase," It's the football, stupid." It's hilarious to see those who expose themselves as lacking in discernment and critical thinking skills making judgement calls about each others "stupidity". Hahahaha

I show them your Post Office photo. That usually does the trick.

BTW, I support Arnold, because no conservative is gonna win the gov race in California. I think Simon and McClintock will ensure that Cruz will win, which is a shame, as about the only job Cruz is qualified for is donating plasma for wide screen TV's.

I hope that this can happen. In addition to having good things happen for W in California, I want to see changes in California--large or small...just changes for the better. That's one of the reasons why we are all working so hard in San Diego to make San Diego, more Republican than even Orange County. I really hope we can all rally around one candidate, and win. I hear nothing but great things about McClintock, and I hope he can rally the support needed, but if it's Cruz or Arnold going into the home stretch...what do we do if we want a Governor with an R behind his name, for California? I guess time will tell.
Thanks for listening...
