The other musical form that I truly love is Shapenote or Sacred Harp music. Written in a form that harkens back to the baroque, it is polyphonic and is of stunning beauty.

re. shaped-note singing. Cool! I've just visited that site, and listened to an example, and read a bit. I'm planning to look more into that. I'm a "contemporary" Christian musician (play synth in church), and have been unfamiliar with that form of music. Thanks for bringing it to our attention! :-)
