Not flaming you at all!!

I looked at the Lyrics page in my MWS cd and this is the only song that I found with the words "all about" and they didn't include the word "me".Beautiful song from the heart of a man that as the Lord was dealing with him.

Heart of Worship

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart
I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath
I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

I'm coming back to the heart of worship,
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

I think the song's name is "Above All". The line that bothers me is that while Jesus was on the cross He "thought of me above all." I'd argue that he was more concerned with bringing the Father glory, with obeying Him. It seems like a fairly insignificant thing, but the way the song is written, it seems to place an emphasis on "us and our lovability" rather than on "Him and His love in spite of our unlovability."

BTW, the song you quoted is a wonderful song. Wonderful!

very fitting post!

Have you heard Peterson's CD--let me see . . .

ANDREW PETERSON: LOVE AND THUNDER

Especially JUST AS I AM

and

THE SILENCE OF GOD

AND

AFTER THE LAST TEAR FALLS

AND

JUST AS I AM

if that's the one about Christ breaking our hearts and planting the shards.

This CD really touched me deeply.
