Truth be told, I was expecting this announcement AFTER the election...Give him credit for being honest... Now, if Californians still vote for him after this, they deserve each other.

Good one, Busty. This is providing, of course, that there's anyone left to tax. You can make'em pay taxes, but you can't make'em stay.

LOL, anyone who thinks this idiot has a chance in h*ll of winning the recall isn't thinking. But then that may be what Davis is trying to do, get all the illegals drivers licences so they can vote for Mr. "BustAnAmerican" and his Mexifornia ideas.

Not only that, but total CLASS WARFARE as well.
"raise income taxes on the wealthiest Californians to 11 percent from 9.3 percent"

Schwarzenegger Makes Statement on Prop. 13
I am extremely pleased I will be able to draw upon the wisdom of my friend Warren Buffett and other giants on the world stage such as Secretary George Shultz not only during this campaign, but also once I become governor.
"Warren and I have talked about Proposition 13, and he clearly understands my strong unequivocal support for the initiative.
I supported Proposition 13 25 years ago, and I support it today. Two months ago I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association Proposition 13 silver anniversary gala.
Twenty-five years ago, the people rose up and demanded relief from outrageous property taxes. The politicians of California at that time were unresponsive to the peoples needs. Elderly Californians on fixed incomes were afraid that they could lose their homes. So the people showed the politicians who was the boss
Today, we are involved in a recall election because we again have a governor and government who have been unresponsive to the needs of the people.
This is the principal reason I decided to run for governor. I am calling together the brightest minds in the business, financial and investment communities from throughout this state and country to help put Californias economy back on track and to help me formulate my economic agenda.
I expect many dynamic ideas and policy recommendations from my team. But with regards to my position on Proposition 13, my position is rock solid in support of that initiative.

para ti...
Reminds me of the old punk song, can't remember by whom:
"Todo para mi! Nada para ti!"
Would be a good Democrat campaign theme song.

just because they have licenses doesn't make them eligible to vote...or so I thought. Here are the requirements to register to vote in California:
1. Valid Driver's License (or State-issued ID card).
2. Fill out the form
3. Put your signature at the bottom attesting to the fact that you're eligible to vote.
To the best of my knowledge the state does not check to see if you're a citizen. Furthermore, Poll Workers are forbidden to ask for identification when a potential voter comes to the polls.
Does this help?

``The simple truth is, we all got into this mess together. And we're all going to have to get out the same way: together,'' Bustamante said. Uh, sorry. The simple truth is that ALL Californians are NOT responsible. What he is proposing is to have those who benifited LEAST from the budget increases shoulder MOST of the burden.
Walter Mondale would be proud. My guess though is that Busta, his honesty notwithstanding, will end up in the same political trash-heap as Walter (w/o the cushy ambassadorship).
