They don't need any new reasons to hate us. They hate us with a perfect hatred. They believe that we are soft and ripe for defeat. They believe that we will not fight back... not over the long haul. In fact, they are counting on it. That is why they fight the way they do. They believe that, in the face of a rising casualty count, we will retreat and surrender.

They aren't stopping... they will keep coming. They are getting better funded and better armed. They will keep coming.

Isn't a delegation of US congressmen over there right now? Or did that get cancelled?

Nope, it wasn't cancelled. MSNBC is interviewing Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson from Baghdad.

CNN is reporting the UN didn't want that many guards around the building because they didn't want to be like the Americans.

There just aren't words...

I'd suggest that this was an assassination attempt then... I would assume that the UN would be a place such a delegation would visit there...

If that is the case, where was the Secret Service?

Watch the pols and pundits today and keep track of how many are more outraged today over an attack on the UN than attacks on our troops.

Jerry Nadler is already doing this

I believe we are doing that... but the best way to fight is to take the battle to them. Make them fight before they are ready... keep them on the run and off balance. Be relentless and see this thing through to the bitter end. (their bitter end)

And we're supposed to get involved with and cede authority to an organzation that can't even protect its own people properly, Rep. Nadler?

Excellent point.

They would probably have SpecOps protection. I don't think senators usually get Secret Service protection (I could be wrong).

Steve Harrigan (FN) said there were 9 people on stretchers carried out; the cafeteria for the building is located next to the lobby.

No, they're doing a good job. Have a reporter on the ground, good film coverage, were first, I think, to hear from Kay Baily Hutchison - minutes after the bomb went off. Major Bob is giving commentary. John Scott is doing a fine job from the studio.

There were no US military on the scene when the bomb went off.

Major Bob thinks it was a 'small', easy to assemble bomb - mentioning OK City.

Steve Harrigan from Baghdad - at least 9 stretchers have been taken out...a popular cafeteria was attached to the main lobby in this UN building.

Hes doing better, we got an email from him yesterday. He got the staples out of his head, and was pulling guard duty at the internet cafe. It made me feel a lot better to hear from him

That's why Iran has to be next. Not only for Israel, but for us too. The Mullahs are are very, very dangerous..............

Iran has always been the worst. Population is 60 million there thus much harder nut to crack than Saddam. But they have always been worse for Israel than Saddam. I deeply resent they way they remain untouched while funding terrorist proxies such as HizzbAllah.

SOP for that kind of group would be to have a Secret Service CAT team deployed along with a Dept of State security team...

But note that FNC didn't follow up and ask if there WAS NOT good security around the UN building BUT you couldn't get a car near it, why has the security so obviously DECREASED because now a car has gotten near it.

They said the UN didn't want our military guarding their building .. sounds like the UN Building was a soft target
