They have Birchers in Iraq too?.....
JBS was way ahead of the curve and was ridiculed for their billboards 30 years ago saying "Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US"

Well, you'd have to believe that he's alive. I think he's dust. It will be interesting to see if AQ claims this attack like they did the blackout.

I guess the news today won't as slow as yesterday's.

When we get truly serious about Iran and Syria, and Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. we may have a chance to eradicate the cancer that is radical Islam. Meanwhile, I believe Powell is the wrong man to have at State under these circumstances. Too soft, too conciliatory.

until the day the US decides to unchain it's judeo-christian ethics and deal with the islamofascist terrorists just as old Blackjack in Manila would have done (eviscerate, then stuff their dead carcasses with pig entrails and bury them face down--and let their islamic comrades still alive know this fact) we are doomed to a downward cycle of more attacks like this in the middle east against US and western interests.....

ABC/CBS/NBC special reports have gone back to regular programming. (I'm at work, so I don't have access to the other nets or the NY/LA locals here)

I wasn't discussing war strategy with my analogy. But, I think it is pointless to try to figure out which group did it. The terrorists and the states that sponsor them have each other on speed dial. They share intelligence, man power, weaponry, and money.
When you get focused on (for example) Al Qaida, it can hinder the war on terror because opponents of the war begin to say... It wasn't Iraq that attacked us on 9/11, but AQ. Or, it's only the Palestinians attacking Israel, etc. etc.
Well, unless we begin to see that it is one entity, fighting the same battle for the same result, we can get bogged down in figuring out which wasp did it. No, destroy the nest. If that means, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, the Palestinians, Iran, then the Saudis. So be it.
But never forget (and I know you have not) that we are talking about one nest.

Why FNC is interviewing Nadler and discussing whether we were correct to go to war in Iraq. It's a little late in the game to be discussing that particular topic. FNC is interviewing a number of people from the same mindset, including a UN rep who kept talking about the "American Occupation".
I came here for better insight.

Maybe someone actually figured out that a collective group of US haters would have a better chance at doing damage than several small, regionalized factions. Add some funding to it, and you'd have AQv.2. After the fall of AQ, it just seems naturally that some looney would want to take the place of Bin Laden.

I posted an excellent article by Ralph Peters yesterday called Ignorance. I'd link it, but I don't know how. I used the key words: Ralph Peters.
It is well worth the read and backs up what Kenneth Pollack is saying.

Elkie, we are losing so few troops it's a miracle. Our worst month post Baghdad Liberation Day - July - during major aggressive ops and after the death of the Hussein 'boys' we lost 39 total - 28 to hostile acts - across a nation the size of California with 150,000 troops on the ground and over 24 million newly freed Iraqis - all with access to mountains of weapons left to them by our enemies. We've had no mass casualties. The numbers prove (as do most reports from the troops) that the vast majority of Iraqi people welcome us - in spite of the 24/7 negative press sowing dissent daily.
Our troops went to war just 5 months ago today. They've toppled Saddam, stabilized good sections of the nation, repaired infrastructure and helped instill elected, representative governments in cities across Iraq... an amazing job in this short time.
