What kind of gas shortage?
If it's a gasoline shortage, maybe California can trade for some Colorado River water.

We are right now. (We are one of the few states that don't do Daylight Savings Time) Warning: This is completely off of the subject. My husband and I visited Arizona last year and noticed that some Indian reservations observed daylight savings time. How come they do and the rest of the state does not?

Warning: This is completely off of the subject. My husband and I visited Arizona last year and noticed that some Indian reservations observed daylight savings time. How come they do and the rest of the state does not? I don't know. I don't know why anyone purposely observes the archaic daylight savings time. It is SOOOOO annoying that it even exists. Of course, I grew up in Indiana where such a thing is not done and then moved to Arizona where we don't do it either. So the concept of changing your clock twice a year for no particular reason is completely alien to me.

I just turned my clock back an hour so that I'd have time to tell you why daylight savings time is so important.

Notice how this story is so hushed up? Friends in California, Utah, Georgia, and Pennsylvania had not heard about this problem we are having. California? Utah? Georgia? Pennsylvania? There's no sign of a gas shortage here in Sedona either. Right outside on Highway 179, there are a Shell, an Exxon and a Chevron. Cars are filling up with no waiting, regular at $1.77, and you wouldn't know that in the streets of Phoenix people are eating each other for the gas in their tanks. But I was in town over the weekend, and I saw every gas station closed. It's real, but I still don't believe it.

Only the ones that actually have gas to sell, and they may not be making much of a profit because they are undoubtedly paying more to have the gas trucked in from Tucson than they would if it arrived via the pipeline.

I apologize. I didn't read your post carefully enough. CA supplier may be loving it, but I hastily thought you were referring to Phoenix gas stations, who will be blamed for gouging, when in fact many maybe losing a substantial amount of money.

How come Phoenix has a gas shortage? What about the rest of the state?

Found this at another site: http://www.phxnews.com/fullstory.php?article=6393 "I drove to the tank farm at 51st Ave and Van Buren. I spoke to the Kinder Morgan site manager. He is baffled because their tanks are full. Fuel tankers are coming in at the normal pace, even slower than usual.
He suspects that the gas stations running out are caused by widespread media panic. People are topping off tanks and filling containers of gas when they would not normally do so, causing a large drain at stations."
News Conference to be at 3:00 as per Channel 5.

From what I hear it is the mainline from Tucson to Phoenix only. True, we don't hear about the in-between areas such as Casa Grande.

Indian reservations observed daylight savings time.I would think it's because the Navjo Nation spans several sates and wants the same time zone across its land.

Sabotage?

Butch is now speaking. She's just saying that Kinder Morgan is getting permits to get it running and when they do it will be 7-14 days which means a lot longer.
She says that supply dwindled while alt. sources were coming thru the pipeline.
Gas is moving (bull) sufficiently enough to meet demand. More bunk. She needs to be fired!

When I was in Phoenix in June, they were talking about a gas shortage due to the special blend of gas that is mandated in the Phoenix area. I don't know if this is the case this time.
