I don't mind the music...it's just that most of the CC "artists" would sell their souls to the devil if they could break big on the secular charts.

For many CC "artists" "The Word" is a convenient way to make a buck while they're trying to make it big.

But for those who truly sing for the Lord, what a blessing they'll be for our troops.

Or, as Paul says about those who preach the gospel for selfish reasons: "in any case, the gospel is preached."

You're probably right, sadly, but there are also a few with an admirable amount of integrity.

I know one Christian artist who was offered a seven figure advance by the president of Capitol records (Charles Koppelman), but turned it down because they refused to let him have final say over the lyrics.

Here's how the above would be more appropriately written:
I don't mind the music...it's just that I imagine that most of the CC "artists" would sell their souls to the devil if they could break big on the secular charts.

It's my personal opinion that For many CC "artists" "The Word" is a convenient way to make a buck while they're trying to make it big.
The question now becomes why you believe that "most" or "many" CC artists are like this. Are you stating that you know "most" or "many" CC artists and that they have revealed to you that this is their motivation? Are you projecting? Are you applying some sort of Sunday school spiritual calculus that since most of the world is lost in the darkness of sin, and since the group comprising CC music is in the world, that "most" of CC "artists" must, therefore, be lost in the darkness of sin? Or are you just generally cynical, believing that anyone who is any kind of performer must be in it for the bucks and the fame?

Your use of "artists" belies your "I don't mind the music."

Not so for Mercy Me. Those guys are for real. Same thing with Shaun Groves.

Those that do, (Creed and Evanescence, for example) do their damndest to throw off the Christian artist label as fast as possible.

Be specific as to which ones you are referring to along with proof to back that up. There's nothing stopping them from releasing secular albums. And while I will admit that the quality of CC music in the last 5 years has deteriorated (the quality of pop music in the last 15 years has deteriorated much more), if they can make a living with a CC label, they can make as good or better a living with a secular label.

Granted some Christian music is crap -- But some Christian music is very spiritual and uplifting -- if not life changing. I am glad some Christian artists are choosing the secular end of the business. I don't look at it as selling their soul to the devil. I look at it as reaching more people in the world -- Life House is one of them. Maybe Christian artists see $$$ signs but don't you think for one moment that God is powerful enough to use that?

People today are not satisfied with the traditional way of most churches -- hymns and boring services. People can't relating to words that were written in the 16th century. There is no challenge for today's world and the young people are leaving in droves. A church that doesn't have young people to carry it will die within 20 years.

I am so glad that I am apart of a different kind of church that is springing up all of the US these days. They are focused on meeting people where they are and using different types of media to bring the message -- video clips, secular music, and spirit filled contemporary Christian music -- to creatively communicate Bible truth.
