So much in this article to comment on. But I think this sums it up rather well:

The Assembly recently passed a bill mandating fines of up to $150,000 against business owners - even small clothing stores, Bible bookstores and nonprofit organizations like the Boy Scouts - for refusing to hire cross-dressing and transsexual job applicants.

Two bills came up for a vote this year in the Assembly higher education committee. One, introduced by a Republican legislator, sought to help young men and women serving in the National Guard qualify for Cal Grants - a state- funded scholarship awarded to Californians needing financial help attending college in the state. The other, carried by a liberal Democrat, sought to make the same Cal Grants scholarships available to persons who entered the country illegally. Not surprisingly, the liberal-dominated Higher Education Committee approved the bill granting benefits to persons in California illegally, and killed the measure to assist young people who joined the National Guard.

Just pathetic. Doesn't ANYONE there pay attention, and hold these people accountable??

Man, am I ever sick of that foul pisspot, Kalifornia.
And sicker of the excuses - - the voters elected themselves exactly the liberal Democrat scumbags they deserve. Now they can drop dead as far as I'm concerned. Not so much as one stinking penny of my federal tax dollars better go into that toilet.

Second amendment bump.

California can be a great state again.

Sadly, I doubt it. It's simply too far gone. Who would change it? The liberals were voted in by liberals who dominate voter rolls. They chased off conservative businesses and a lot of hard-working, productive people. Those productive people are tired of being screwed by idiots who think there is a free lunch. They ain't coming back.

Have I missed something?

Since when have "conservatives" become whiney, defeatist, Nattering Nabobs of Negativity?

Of course conservatives can fix California. In fact, they are the ONLY ones who can.

Liberals didn't "hijack" California. That's the wrong rhetorical approach. The voters got what they voted for. When you vote for democrats, you get taxing and spending that eventually results in ruin. The CA voters are responsible for this mess.

"California can be a great state again."
I doubt it

"Expel 5 million Mexican invaders, change the law so that children born here don't automatically become citizens"

Ain't gonna happen.

"open up the coast to offshore drilling"

Too little, too late.

" vote for only conservative Republicans."

Won't make any difference in California.

A major effort has to be made by the California Republican Party, with assistance from the National Republican Party to defeat Democratic State legislators and replace them with Republicans in 2004.

Where were they for the 2000 election when this really mattered? There's no way under this gerrymandered system will Republicans ever win legislative seats. They'd be better off putting their money into an effort to have the current legislative redistricting thrown out.
